For Sale Damaged 1997 Limited Edition Cruiser VA

1997 Limited Edition Land Cruiser. 181k miles. Took a good hit. Instead of letting the insurance company haul it away, I thought I'd give it a couple days here to see if anyone wants to buy it and use it for parts. Located in Fairfax County, VA. I'd like to get $1900, which is about the difference between USAA's full pay off, and their partial payment if I keep the vehicle.

Here are some comments from a Capital Land Cruiser Club member who looked the vehicle over: The DS frame rail is bent in, the radiator has a leak and the fan pushed in and cracked the fan. There's what I'd call typical Washington, DC area rust but not as bad as I've seen. The sunroof has been leaking. The axles are not locked.

If you haven't negotiated with them yet, you need to start. the initial offer from state farm when I wrecked my 250k mile 80 was $7700. So if you stopped there, USAA is still $2k low. I had a TON of documented mods on mine and ended up hiring an appraiser after negotiating with them for 2 months. The appraiser got me an extra $5000 over the "top dollar" that State Farm claimed they could pay.

PM me if you want to talk through it. I'd be more than happy to talk you through how to get a few more $K out of this. On the surface I think they're at least $3000 short on their appraisal.
