Just got the email today. Great news! We are a dealer for them (classic car shop). I’m sure this will be handy for many people doing swaps or just wanting modern functionality with stock looking gauges. These things are great and we use them in almost every build

$1800? Did I read that right?

yep. Not exactly cheap.. but this is normal range for their gauges. includes all new digital sending units, custom configurable warning outputs, service interval reminders, MPG calcs, DTE, etc etc etc. and can possibly plug into OBD port and grab most data from the ECU. Can also rig up aux pressure senders for boost, etc.

I wonder how much of the display could be fed with OBDII data for us LS Swap guys... 🤔

They did write that gear position isn't available on the GM Connect and Cruise package, but I wonder if it is available on other GM motors.

But does it have locker indicators?

Ordinarily, when we build LS swapped hot rods, we get all data to feed the gauges from the OBD port with the exception of fuel. That’s easy enough to wire. And then you just tell the gauge system what ohm range your sender is and it will be programmed accordingly

Additionally, for those that run aftermarket EFI system such as Holly etc, they also make adapters to plug-in and pull the data from those systems as well. So no need for duplicate sending units.

At that price, I’d spring for the Haltech UC-10 Digital Dash and create that layout. You could easily create the indicators you need and add them to the display. So much more customization with the UC-10. There is a OBD version that plugs into the OBD terminal, you could also add various other sensors.

NIce to know there's an upgrade option but if you add the optional bits the dakota digital price goes to $2300??

I think I'll have to stick with the old steam gauges for now.

Halltech is great. I personally love their standard layout. It just doesn't look OE or fit OE, at all.

To answer other questions: it does have all 3 locker lights. it can also display boost, EGT, trans temp, etc with add on modules.

A new firmware update allows the Haltech 100% customization, so that layout can easily be created, but this is about the Dakota Digital so I'll just leave it there.

That’s great. For those that want something that’s clearly aftermarket. This will plug into the factory mounting location like a stock cluster.. this isn’t a debate about which is better. It’s informing people of a new option..

Looking at the manuals, you'd essentially be leaving the factory cluster wiring alone and making completely new connections at various points in the harness? Am I interpreting that correctly?

Yes and no. If you have and use an OBD adapter it will pull data from the ECU. If you can’t/don’t, then you have to run new sending units to the new Dakota cluster computer. Stock cluster wiring is not used.

Kinda been available for years. Thank this guy:

Partially correct. I reached out then a few years ago about a production run, and they said no. You had to send in a donor cluster under their one-off custom program. way more expensive. This unit is slightly different has has the correct color needles. But no doubt, this 100% paved the way for us. Thank you @Lo2aY !!

Congrats to all! having updated instruments make all the difference. I personally like mine a little better interms of the color scheme but hey! this is way cheaper and does the exact same thing.

Do you know if the bottom row has all the O.E. warnings in it? where's the High beam?

I got them to do the TJ and the 80 series instruments! this is awesome
