I thought it was time to finally make a build thread here. 2004 Sequoia Limited 4WD. I acquired the truck in March 2020 from my parents my grand parents owned it prior to them. After test driving the truck I diagnose a bad head gasket. My father overheated the truck which he thought it only needed a new radiator. My parents have always been hard on vehicles not following routine maintenance schedule.

They wanted to scarp the truck at that point. I took it off their hands for cheap with 253K miles. I found a shop with an engine with 130k miles. Paid $1600 for engine and labor which was a no brainer. I also installed JBA shorties which I knew I would need at some point. I had the headers coated in high heat cerakote. Drove the truck stock till recent.

Summer of 2023 I had custom bumpers and slider by Kreyzfab in Pueblo, CO. Parts are slowing coming in for a whole suspension refresh. I got a used set of 2.5 DSC fox coil overs from @oldmantan . In the rear Ill be running OME 2".

For wheel and tires I got lucky and found a set of TRD Rock warrior 6 lug with a decent set of 285/70/r17 C load tires in El Paso, TX. I drove 6 hours round trip. I had to have them.

I installed harbor freight 12v disc horn. Easy install. I got sick of my sissy horns. They sound much better.

Sounds clip gave me an error when uploading.

I replaced the needle bearing in the front diff with a carrier bearing. I was getting a growl from the front diff at slow speeds coming to a stop. This eliminated that issue. Common upgrade for the 1st gen Sequoia/Tundra

I installed a scangauge 2. I found a mount on etsy. Fitment is great. It doesn’t get in the way of the column shifter, fished the cable behind the column cover.

Got a set a JBA UCA’s. Came up on set of slee off road rear springs from a local cruiserr group on mud. The SOF2RH spring is designed to give 2″ of rear lift on a 100 Series Land Cruiser /LX470 with additional 250lbs of weight added to the rear of the vehicle. these are similar to OME 863's in spring rate except just one inch shorter for those of us who wanted less of that "stinkbug" look as some mudders call it. Planning on running the ARB Old Man Emu 63020L rear shocks.

Waiting on the oem LCA’s to arrive. Which would be the final piece to the puzzle for now.

Back from the dead!

I really like that rear bumper with the top part of the OEM cover left in. It makes the wings look a lot less bulky and IMO, is the cleanest design I've seen for these trucks yet. Any shots with the swing out open, and/or any from a lower angle showing the bumper's position in relation to the body and frame?

Thanks I am really happy with the swing out. I’m looking to add a strut to help control the weight. I can get more pictures soon.

Finally got the time to install the FOX 2.5 DSC coilovers. Installed JBA uca. Install was pretty straight forward. I installed the reservoir.s inside the wheel well. I hope there no contact where I positioned them. I’ll double check once wheels are mounted.

Now I’m just waiting for the oem lca to arrive. I used electric heat shrink on the hose clamps to give it a cleaner look and protect the reservoirs. A little trick I learn when I had a F250 with Carli kings.
