Hi all. I’m very new to the 100 series world. I just bought this 2001 LX470 and it is in need of new CV axles. I already have the axles, but I’ve heard talk of needing new snap rings. Does anybody have a link to some reasonably priced rings?

Cruiser outfitters has a lot of stuff you may need. And they're a forum vendor you can call and a human will pick up to help you out.

www.partsouq.com and plug in your VIN#. familiarize yourself with the parts diagrams

Get new oil seals to swap in while you're in there. good luck!

We should have all of the parts needed for the CV job and any of the 'while you're in there' parts. Diff seals, knuckle seals, drive flanges, caps, hardware, gaskets, bearings, etc, etc, etc. Feel free to reach out to our team by phone (801-563-1277) or via our Contact-Us

In case you aren't aware, It is always best to replace the diff oil seals and hub drive flanges when installing new cv axles.

Seals are a serivce item, drive flanges are not. Replacing them just because you have them off isn't economically sound. Replacing them because they are worn is good advice.
@FlakeyP the snap rings are pennies for each (of two). Your dealer will have them, or be able to get them in a day. I've never replaced one, unless it was too thick, then I ground it to fit.

Is the diff oil seal a difficult part to replace? My bro in law is helping me (I don’t know much about working on cars) and I don’t want to over work him.

There are two, one per side for each CV axle.

Not hard to do, but get a seal remover; they are cheap. You may be able to borrow/rent one from Advance or Autozone. Be very careful not to scratch the seal bore, or it'll leak.

You also need a seal installer. 3" of PVC pipe works well.

Also, the seals (from one side to the other) are not the same. Make sure you get the correct seals and not two of the same seal.
