How do I cut this thing? the firewall end has what looks like a swedged nut on it. I assume this side stays on. the other end has a ferrule(sp?) that Im thinking I remove and cut this side. I cannot get this ferrule thing off and the instructions state ... Don't move ferrule while cutting???? so confused

I have an early cruiser 66 ... what should I do about the gas pedal side? fully fabricate a new arm off the existing pedal?

Aren't you cutting off the part that has the ferrule attached anyway? Just cut it off. You should be able to get a new ferrule at a bicycle shop for after it's the length you want it.

If you don't have a cable cutter, use a dremel tool with a cut off wheel for a clean cut. Cut slowly.
