This tool has two radially shaped voids for capturing the threaded fixtures into the crank pulley. Unique geometry provides access to crank bolt. Tool is designed to self-bond against frame rails while tightening to Toyota specs.

Will sell plans for $45, diy assembly kits for $90; complete tool for $140

Love it! Can't picture it. But I like where this is going. With a newly rebuilt motor I hope to never need this but you never know.

I saw what you did there!;)

Nice one! :D

A true work of art.

I like how you let your kid do the welding.

Personally, I'd charge more for this "Artisan" tool.:hillbilly:

The most important part is the surface prep

That's a belly laugh! Think you can come up with something for my flux-gate capacitor? I think my Compton scatter re-arranger is failing too.

Dang it! I was in the process of developing the plans for sticking a heavy hex impact socket in the bell housing, but you may have me beat on price point.

Reported.

I'll undercut you, $40 for plans, $85 for the kit and $135 for the complete unit (buyer provides paint)...

cheers,

On a more interesting note, I actually sheared an M8 bolt when tightening the crank pulley with a 24" breaker bar because I'm so savage.

I too am quite savage it would seem. I bent a grade 8.8, backed it out with some channel locks. Decided I knew what would work really well, lets try a 12.9, they don't bend at all, snapped it off in the pulley. Eventually I was quite successful when I was unable to snap my 14mm impact rated socket that I ran into the bell housing.

I copied george_tlc, but cleaned it up a bit. I will up the charge to reflect the innovation.

Bastard - stole my design and even had the gall to clean it up. Knew I should have got a patent before publishing - though I notice you didn't follow the precise contours of my design, so maybe that would not have violated my non existent patent....

cheers,
george.

Why change a good, great idea!

As much as I like the OP's unique design I have a complete kit available. Note that each tool can be used individually as a weapon (stabbing, bashing, and poking) in the event of a WWZ situation occuring while you're under your truck. Unfortunately plans will not be made available (I wouldn't want anyone to copy my design).

This should be moved to TECH.

If you can get it moved back, that would be nice. The duplicate post being deleted was what i thought you reported.
