Hey there, I could really use some opinions on snorkel head or inlet brands. Here is the situation... I have a rear mounted turbo & have been putting this off for too long. I have good direction with the tube routing and the actual airbox assembly. The airbox mounts just beside the jack area inside the truck. The left side of the airbox will have a 3" outlet that attaches to the inside rear quarter panel flange. I wanted to have a tube blow molded with ABS, but have realized that a plug will have to be made. I am going to have a friend help me with this. The tube will be made of fiberglass for now :eek: even though I know that it will be somewhat fragile. If anyone could let me know about a possible snorkel head other than Safari I would be open to suggestions. I found a part number for the Safari head. Does anyone have a used one?? I think the water separator design that Safari uses makes sense. Thanks Guys! -Andy:cheers:

if you are custom molding, how about routing to the vent for a stealth install

If I could draw like that my suggestion would have been equally as special...but I like FirstToy's idea

Ok, nobody else has asked ... rear mounted turbo??? You can't just throw that out there without pics & further discussion!

That deserves it's own thread and write up including where the parts were sourced from, etc...

Art-nice is James profession. It' s no wonder that drawing is as good as it is... and probably whipped out in a couple of minutes as good as he is!

Thanks guys. I've stared at this vent possibility for a long time and it is just too crammed in there without butchering the truck. I'm going back outside to look again. Damn... That drawing is really good! I wish it could work. It would be super clean. I already went through the floor last weekend. I used a really heavy duty swimming pool bolt through 3" flange. It has a nice thick rubber gasket, but I'm going to also use sealer around the edges. Thanks! any more ideas???

if you are fabbing a fiberglass piece, you could make a "spacer" to sandwich into the slider window. It would be easy to make another simple lock for the window.

easy, clean and still stealthy... well, not easy but ...

Thank You!!! I just got back from my friends shop. He looked at your drawing and said that it would be no problem. He is really good with fiberglass. I'm on my way out to the garage to get started! It may take a bit of time. Pics soon!!!

Thanks again. -Andy:grinpimp::grinpimp:

FirstToy, how about drawing cruisers and cruiser parts just for fun? I would really like to come here every day and see some cruiser art. Wonderful drawings.

Another idea for an air intake would be to drill the outlet in the rear pillar. Of course only if your fiberglass friend fails.

I am also planning on installing a remote turbo so I would like to know the outcome of your work.

Still have to fit the inside panel & trim the carpet. I used a air box from a 2002 F150 & an intake tube from a Focus. Under the truck I'm completely sealed. I am only able to hold 6psi because one of the tubes just before the turbo collapses. :frown: I need to replace it with hard pipe. This also means that I have a bit too much restriction at the inlet. I'm working on it although finding parts has been the biggest challenge. Thanks again for the idea.:cheers:

wow!!!!!!!! nice work man. i dont know whats most impressive, the artwork, the product, or the less than two weeks from concept to creation. Keep thinkin outside the box.

Woou !

Pretty awesome job dude .. I'm really impresed .. I have a question in the intake restriction way.

Did you think the snorkel and the little air box can cause a drop in your boost .. ?
