Here are the beams. I might be too close to the garage but if you look at the rectangles on the garage door, you can see the beam to the right goes to the upper corner whereas the beam to the left(DS) is underneath the bottom corner of the same row of rectangles.

Thanks for the pics!

I'm glad to see that the light pattern is correct for you guys!

I have a feeling that a few more 80 owners are going to purchase them now.;)

Does anybody know why the shipment is so expensive? Is it because it really is or maybe the sellers want to make their offer more attractive and give a lower auction price but compensate with the inflated shipping costs. I have purchased many things on Ebay and, for example shipping a set of clarinets (my father is a musician) costs $40 maximum (a 10lb case), while they want around $130 for shipment to Europe.

If anybody can find those lights at a lower overall price (whether internet or a shop), please let me know. I am dying to get those lights (the chrome ones).

The boxes these lights ship in is pretty big and they are filled with that expanding foam type packing material. These lights are always expensive the first month or 2 they are on ebay and then end up being $50-80 for the same brand new item.

I'd expect to see half the buyers listing these on ebay again when they start realizing they can't see since the light is so poor out of the fog lights.

Lexus GX wheels are also a popular upgrade on Toyota Fortuners.

...

HID's are designed to work in dedicated HID projector-type housings.

I have never seen a 4runner with any GX wheels on it. as far as I know, i am the only one. I have GX470 17's on mine.

as far a beam pattern, that looks like it has quite a bit of glare, take a pic father back from the wall. you could easily retro in some true xenon projectors, or even some hella halogen ones, and be alot better off.
I have seen worse beam patterns, as any oem reflector is. i think that as far as a low beam, it is a worthwhile upgrade. Post more pics though.

The LX450 wheels are pretty much available anywhere. There is no Lexus dealer here yet a lot of 80's are wearing them.

Fortuner, not 4runner ;)

Let's hope you are right. I've been observing those lights for quite a few weeks but have not seen any significant price drops. I will wait and see.
They've already dropped over $50 since I bought mine back in Nov. I thought I had a deal when I got them $25 cheaper at the time.:frown: Unless these lights start having real problems, I can't see them dropping under $150 especially since the OEM's are outdated to say the least. They're at $215 now and prolly drop to $200 soon but the Euro lights have been around for over a year and it's price has held pretty steady. I hope these drop in price too!!!

I know lights are considered "bling" but that's about as blingy as I get. Always been a fan of nice lights since I was a kid and when a big rig would drive by on the frwy that had tons of lights, I'd be like "wow" but other than that, don't care for shiney stuff. Btw, I do kinda like the look of Hummers with the clearance markers up on top. Has anybody tried that on their 80? I wanted to add these but I don't care for the chrome. I thought about spray painting them black but didn't want to chance it. I'll just add my own side markers down the road.

I found another use for the LED's on the new lights. Since the lights look plenty good w/o them on, I'm gonna piggy tail them to the signal flashers so they come on only with the blinkers. I'll see if I could find amber LED's to replace the white ones in there.

For you die-hard OEM lamp lovers, I have mine available for sale as I know they'll just be collecting dust until I put them on ebay. Since these new lights also replaced the side markers, I'll have them available too if anybody is interested.

If you're going to pull the trigger on these LED tail lights at that price I can get them for you, maybe even for a little less.;)

Let me know if I can help.

The reason the prices drop is because these are CHEAP CHEAP quality lights, usually made in China.

The quality doesn't get worse...but more "performance shop" ebay sellers start picking these up and undercutting other sellers.

I've watched it happen for years with different model vehicles. A new style will come out and then these will just get lower and lower fast until they are just being auctioned off for whatever they can sell for, or sitting in someone's "ebay store."

Its the same as those Chinese copy pocketbikes. I bought one when they were first out on ebay for $450 + shipping. A month later I bought another one for $235. 2 months after that I bought a larger engine, full fairing model for $104. These weren't lucky steals...thats what the market turned out to be since so many people were buying and trying to undercut other sellers.

It happens fast with the lights too.

Dude these lights are alot brighter than stock. I don't know why you keep refering to them as fog lights cause their not. And the quality of them are right up there with oem. Bro if you don't like them thats cool but don't make up bull:censor: . I would definately recommend these if someone was looking to upgrade their headlights. Great quality, great light output. They make black housing ones which are the ones I have if you don't like the chrome.

The "projectors" arent foglights?

Have you checked the bulbs? Every picture I see on ebay is showing the same foglight "projector" housing.....

These are the bulbs they always included in the ebay lights...

HIGH BEAM: H1 LOW BEAM: H1

Translation: low beams = cheap 55w fog light bulb
high beams = exact same cheap 55w fog light bulb

I know because I used to buy these lights when I was into the super rice-tastic Honda scene and bought a few different sets for my Accord and my friends got them for Civics, Preludes, etc. Those bulbs also like to die every 2-3 months and at least in my Accord required removing the front bumper cover to access the headlight bolts to pull out the whole housing. Then you have to remove the little screw/clip contraption that holds the bulb in. That was all kinds of fun.

Mot, do you have the possibility to get the projector headlights under $200 plus shipping?

ummmmmmmmm, NO!:D

BTW, as far as I know, the H1 bulbs are not necessarily "fog light" bulbs.

All of the OEM fogs I have use the "H3" bulb and my OEM Euro-spec 80 headlight's high beam uses H1. But I believe they are used in other applications than mentioned above.

Now chances are that they bulbs that come with these headlights are indeed of inferior quality, compared with OEM, but should be fine for a little while.;)

BTW mine came with H1 bulbs in low and high not H3's. H1's are used for low-beam headlamps, high-beam headlamps, auxiliary fog and driving lamps. I've had them since october with no problems so again I'm sorry bro but you don't know what your talking about so you should just quit bull:censor: .

H1 55w= 1550 lumens $216
9006=1000 lumen
9012 HIR=1870 lumens $10

I'll keep my $10 HIRs :D

Somebody will try to argue the projectors are more efficient, but cheap projectors aren't very efficient usually. So to further fan the flames:

9011 HIR swap on the low beams = 2500 lumens and $60 :D :D :D
