I’ve been looking at used LC200 and LX570 for about a month now. I’ve been looking at certified pre owned as well as non cpo vehicles. I couldn’t pinpoint a specific day but within the last few days to a week all the certified preowned LC and LX have disappeared. Searches on Toyota, Lexus and Cars websites have turned up nothing. Can anyone explain this sudden disappearance of CPO LC and LX? Does this have anything to do with the open recall dealing with the airbags? Has anyone ever seen this before? Thanks in advance for any information anyone can provide!

Does this have anything to do with the open recall dealing with the airbags?

Exactly. Technically it is a seatbelt pretensioner that might not work correctly and prevent airbag deployment when they otherwise should. Since it is a safety issue all CPO and new sales have been put on hold.

There are a couple threads with more detail in this section.

I was looking at a 2016 LX a few weeks back that was a CPO. It is still listed today, but not as a CPO but still has same asking price. These dealers are crooks.

I would guess that prices may come down a bit at least on new, as they may be having a buidup of inventory. Will be interesting to see if rebates go up after stop sale is ended.

If they sell it now against Toyota’s mandated hold, it would behoove them to retroactively give CPO status once there is an official fix for the recall and they ain’t willing to negate that then I would wait to purchase a CPO (from somewhere else).

Kinda harsh, don't ya think ;)

CPO, as many know, means the vehicle is being offered with all recalls/issues/everything corrected at time of sale. Can't CPO a vehicle with a known issue that is NOT corrected. One can, however, offer it "as is where is" (non CPO)

Not when the vehicle was originally offered as a CPO (prior to the recall). Today same price as when it was offered as a CPO, but it is not a CPO. I stand by my commment, yup they are crooks. That’s probably why this vehicle is not moving. No big deal, as the inventory is building up for new and used and prices will be falling a bit ( I hope).

Got it, didn't understand that the dealership had priced the truck as CPO and now same vehicle is offered at the same price only now NOT CPO.

I would think that the dealership would work with you if you really want that vehicle , I know the ones I interact with certainly would - on the other hand I wonder if Toyota just doesn't want to sell any of these trucks right now.

As I am sure you know - everyone of these 4WDs that are built are sold - typically for very little discount, if at all. The secondary LC/LX market is very different from the likes of RR, Lincoln, Caddy, Infinity
