It was short work replacing manifold bolts. At first I was afraid the rear two wouldn't come out due to the 80 firewall but they slipped out with ease. They also got torque by feel since I couldn't get a torque wrench on them. All the others no problem.

Old bolts. They should clean up enough to be used for spares.

Exactly, now just scan it all and make a pdf.
I have the PDF repair manuals for the 60, 80, and Dodge. The 60 and 80 I got from MUD. The Dodge truck I found somewhere on the interweb. Still looking for a real Cummins manual but the Dodge truck version has all the diesel info so it's good enough. So far I have about 75% of what I need printed and organized into a custom manual. Even have all the aftermarket stuff inserted as well. I do have plans to cut and paste all the manuals together for a PDF version. Just need a weekend off from work and some bad weather to make the time to sit in front of the computer.
PM me if you want a copy of any of them and I'll email it to you.

I shut down the Edge Star fridge today. It has been running 24/7 for months. I have a brutal work schedule coming up so the 80 won't get used for awhile so no need to keep it running. It was such a good investment.

Was hoping to get one more play day with the 80 this weekend but it didn't work out. I ended up having to help my dad with some ranching stuff. I had to bring my F350 aka "white wheelbarrow" to haul our tractor and shredder down to our river property. It was the heaviest load I've had to haul and during the drive the trailer breaks shorted out so it was fun stopping after that. Luckily I took some back roads so I kept it under 40mph. The 7.3 pulled like a champ.
We did use chains as well. Not just the yellow strap. Those just kept the shedder from bouncing around.

Always good to see this. Sorry gassers. It's the first time since getting my first diesel (2009) that I have filled up for cheaper than RUG in the Texas. Hopefully it stays this way.

On a tech note I have to replace a headlight this weekend. I have a small hole in it. Unfortunately I will have to switch over one from my LX parts rig so that means I have to change out both lights and the grill as well.

Just patch it or put a drain hole. In the light housing. i have what looks like jb weld In a Hole the size of a bb.

Thought about that since its about the same size (BB) but it's right in the center of the light. It looks like it was repaired by the PO once before, similar to a windshield repair.

Actually a bit lower than center. May try some epoxy first. Can't hurt.

Nice. Almost looks identical to mine. I was able to trade a friend my LX lights for his extra 80 lights. He has an LX for so works out well. I am going to try what you did so I can still have a backup.

New headlight in. I really wanted to repaint the trim but I realized I was out of paint and it suppose to rain this weekend anyway. So it's put off till another time. I've taken the grill and lights off so many times that it literally takes 5 minutes to tear it down now.

Learned something new this morning. As I started to splice in the pigtail for the AC compressor I noticed a thick part of the wiring. At first I thought it was were the last pigtail was spiced in. I cut it open and found a diode which was in half. I never would have guessed such a thing. I figured it was a simple positive and negative type thing going to the compressor. So I guess I will replace the diode before hooking up the compressor and getting the system recharged.

Now learned even more. The new pigtail seems to already have the diode in it.

I did some surgery last night and this morning on the rear hatch. I removed the wind deflector to seal up the holes to prevent rust. The DS has some rust that pitted the metal and the PS was fine. Drilled out the nuts, filled with Quicksteel, sanded, and then painted. Not the best body work but I don't care. I kinda like the ugly look.

I put the kayak on top to take fishing for the weekend. Should work better for checking the trotline over the crappy aluminum boat we have been using. It will be my last fun trip for over a month. Heading to Canada for three weeks to work Ottawa Blue Fest and then off to Chicago for Lollapalooza. At least I will be out of the horrible Texas heat.
