Teething problems. No biggie, just a few driver information issues.

Changed out the temp sender and plugged up the heater hole in the head with a neat brass plug. Filled the fuel tank to the brim. But the stock gauges still look like this:

Thinking the gauges are all shot? The temp gauge starts at hot when the engine is cold and slowly goes cold as the engine gets hot. Oil pressure is sits there whether it's Boxing Day or it's 35 out. And despite all these attachments I still can't run a mech water temp gauge cause the damn probe is too long. First time I've had that problem.. ;) Tried sourcing another piece of threaded brass to space it out a bit but no go. And apparently you can't trim them shorter cause they're full of gas.

Spent yesterday scouting locations for a short film I'm directing. Found the perfect homestead but it's a good hour from home so to get the 45 there will require lots of test driving :D

So today I addressed the sticky brakes. Adjusted out the brake master pushrod and backed off each drum a few cogs. Tell you what, the old F has a bit of stick without four anchors holding her back!!

Now to get those gauges sorted.

Have you checked the float valve in the fuel tank?

Have you tried a few washers under the probe to space it out?

I haven't. Gonna pull the cluster and take it into auto sparknado and have him check it. The shoot is nearing fkn quickly and there's a shot of the 45 dash with all gauges in order!! No washers under the probe - probably not watertight enough old son :)

I'll grab your air tools and bring them to Bardon with me this afternoon. Staying here now. Hebe Rd.

They are integrated turn tail. Like a four pin trailer light.

Oh really? We never got them down here, I think even our RHD converted US muscle had a separate flashing amber turn signal. Back to the drawing board..

Thanks TA!

Spent a good few hours yesterday with a test light as I was retiring my new taillights. I've got problems, one of which required a replacement coil. Don't leave your ignition on for hours kids!

I think I fried my points in the process cause even with a new coil it ran like sh!te. Picked up a set today but time got the better of me. Got my new-to-me hinges installed though! Check out them gaps! No more rattles!

Looking good mate

Yeah mate sold the old girl about 2weeks after we spoke about it just working on my 75series now and saving for some sort of new dual cab ute

Good to hear mate, hope you got enough coin to ease the pain. Id suggest a Hilux but I think there's more comfortable dual cabs out there.

Yes mate easied my pain payed off most of my loan only owe a little now but at least I'm back working again

Ah good news. Yeah a work dry spell gets a bit scary after a few months.

Yeah that's for sure

Spent the day changing out and gapping the points. Took it for a drive but it struggled. Turns out the tank's a little cruddy..

So odd it wouldn't run?

It was suggested to me that a POR 15 tank clean and reseal kit would be a good idea, but if I can find another one cheap I may go for that.
