Although this motor was already desmogged when I bought it, there was no way I was going to keep the old air injection plugs in there when I had new shiny ones on the shelf.

The dirty ones will go my original engine which will find its way into another project (chop top 37's? :hmm:)

All happy and loctite-ed where they belong.

I also took the time do tap and plug the oil galley plug. I used m8 set screw and red loctite, don't worry I did it while the head was off.

Seriously I'm so glad I cleaned and painted parts ahead of time, it's made assembly so efficient.

I was very careful to rewrite to same number that was there originally. It's the details.

The real test will be if it runs as good as it looks...

Great! I can't wait to install the rebuilt motor though, I'm sure it will run even better then what's in there now.

;)

I'm thinking spring break... so the end of March? I have a feeling I'll end up keeping ut off the road after I pull the current motor, I'm probably going to want to get pretty meticulous with the engine bay.

Still haven't done the engine swap yet.

Just ordered water pump, plugs, mounts, 4 Toyota oil filters (gotta stock up, no longer available), and some other miscellaneous stuff from Cruiser Corps and Rock Auto.

Just realized I forgot to order injectors. Getting the custom ones that have been on eBay for a while.

Install should happen soon. I'm expecting vehicle downtime because there are a few parts I need to transfer over. Thinking I pull current motor this weekend, anyone want to stop by? Should be fun.

Just an update, motor runs awesome. Tons of power for a stock Cruiser 6, just can't wait to get the five speed in there so I can utilize this motor on the highway.

Had an issue when I first got it running, 2 of the 6 new aftermarket injectors weren't firing. Don't have any spare cash at the moment but I do have some spare time on the weekends while I wait for parts so I may work on swapping the new injectors in (still running the injectors original to the car). Called the company that built them and it turns out they need to be "activated". Also want to put a better throttle body gasket on (currently RTV) and fix my side cover leak and oil filter housing leak, and throw a new oil pressure sender on. Fun stuff
