Hmm, for 34.95 for a pair, what do you think? There are times to go OEM and times where aftermarket are good. These are one of those times, unless you really want to spend $225 on a set that says Made in Japan.

I guess you guys are not used to this like the other sub-forums are. I updated the directions in the first post.

enter me to win , as my hatch hangs low like some folks drawers :moon:

Wow, this couldn't have come at a better time. I have a pair of the strong arm pistons sitting in my Amazon cart since Saturday afternoon.

I'm getting new tires soon and was pulling down the spare to clean it, so I had the jack and tools out in the rear to lower the tire. I lowered the tire and stood back up to put the tools in the pouch and BONK! I slammed my head into the top of the hatch.

Seriously, excellent timing on this!

Yes!!

So tired of banging my head in the cold

I'm not sure why getting rear-ended would affect the hatch struts, but gravity is taking a toll on my head also. Maybe they are just getting tired like me.

I'd love a pair of these to go with the CY lift gate on my son's vehicle.

A few questions though:

Are free lift gate struts a good deal?

What is the largest tire that I can run with these struts?

What is the best year UZJ100 for these struts?

How do these struts affect the value of the vehicle?

Eh, because my rear spoiler blew off last Friday on my way home from work?....Iowa wind gusts, unbelievable I cant catch a break.

I'm gonna either need these supports to hold up my tailgate, or a helmet to prevent concussions from my tailgate!

I need these because you can never have to many parts for a Land Cruiser, and with another Land Cruiser joining the heard at our house, I need these.

I need these

But will they fit with stock suspension?

Will these give me too much lift? I need to still be able to pull the truck into a parking garage

Dude, you took the words right off my keyboard!

The other question I had - since mine is an LX, how will these affect my AHC? :-)

I think the LX requires the high dollar remote reservoir lift gate struts with 24K gold plated internals. Don't forget that you need to swap the the fluid out on those every 3000 miles.

You might want to check with Fox/Radflo/Icon/King for the LX struts.

Don't try the bilstein lift gate struts, as they're too short and you can only open the lift gate about 2".

How do I bleed the old struts before removing them so that I can install these? Once installed will tech stream calibrate them to the correct height?
