Spoke with Gord and Dan at JP Toyota today re. use of "Cruiser Days" for our event. Gord reiterated to me that we have their blessings for continued use of the name. I made sure he understood that we had no problems giving up that name since they coined it first. But his exact reply to me was, "we have/claim no dibs on that name. By all means use it."

So I think the poster will reflect that, and read: "Going Coastal at...Cruiser Days 2006". What say the masses?

On then T-shirts last year we had "Costal Cruiser Landcruiser Show", We chose that so that we wouldn't be using the "Cruiser Days" name without consent. Do we want to change this on the shirts, I think this will cost something as a new screen would need to be made.

I had calculated how many shirts sold last year of each sise but then I gave the info to steve with the money, but we bought 150 shirts and sold about 2/3, or a bit more and pretty much recooped the whole cost.

Thanks for the input fitchick, anyone else???????????????

Hi Jim:

I did ask permission from Gord and Dan last year prior to even coming out with the posters...and we had their blessings last year too.

I think that what you have written on the shirt is appropriate, and people will be able to connect the shirt to the event without any problems...at least until we use up the rest of the shirts.

I'll take this opportunity to thank you and Deny once again for the great job last year on those shirts.

How about that idea with the stickers and keychains? I personally like it.

I'm really liking the slogan "Going Coastal: Cruiser Days 2006" sounds snappy...Maybe this could be an offical slogan for years to come.... so with that being said, why not change the t-shirts to the above said slogan, considering MOST of the shirts were sold from last year....AND order the same size run as last year...

I suggest a size run of 10 - 15 tanks for the ladies in S, M, and L... if we run out - oh well, at least we will have a gauge for 2007????

Hey Stone, Drop the at. Just write it up.... Going Coastal:Cruiser Days 2006.

Ania and I are at your disposal as well. We both enjoyed being a part of the cruiser days last year. Blowing the engine the next day was equally fun.

Cool. Stone will be getting on these details when he gets back, through himself or CG a Co-Cord...

Wayne...that sounds great! Looking forward to seeing you and Berni once again.

Just got back into town tonight. Raffle donations are most welcome and you can notify either myself or Clarence about them. Same deal as last year...sponsors of the event will be recognized. I'll be sending out the letter to vendors sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Hi Stone

can you bring an draft copy of the "letter to Vendors" to the next meeting so the club can have a look at it and offer input if needed.
If you're working that night, please email a copy to someone who is attending the meeting

Will do. You received a copy of it as a vendor from last year. I was planning on using a similar letter. I was supposed to have a meeting with Clarence this weekend sometime to discuss Cruiser Days, and everyone helping out would of course be welcome to that, but I think he's in Calgary until Saturday. He hasn't returned my call yet, so I don't know if the meeting is still on this weekend.

Hi Stone: How's things coming along with the Coastal Cruiser Days? Need any help anywhere?. Phone calls, pick up stuff.... whatever - just give me a call... Will we be having a "committee meeting" of sorts at some time?

Hi Petra:

I've emailed the Lions Club of BC to see if they are interested in doing the consession stand this year. I will follow up with a phone call soon.

Clarence is working on the vendor letters.

Everyone's supposed to be hitting up the sponsors that they approached last year for donations to this year's event.

There's no planned meeting so far...I have my bro-in-law's wedding to MC this weekend. Will let you all know as soon as further developments come up.

Thanks!
Stone

:) ;) :grinpimp:   :bounce: :bounce2:

thanks for the update and have a great weekend

Hey gang,

You should put a web banner ad on the tlca.org website for your event. Go for a jumbo top ad. Take a look here for ad specs and rates. I'll work with you. If you get your event sanctioned by TLCA you'll get an ad on Toyota Trails.

Spoke with the President of the Newton Lions tonight, and she sounded enthusiastic about taking on the concession stand for Cruiser Days 2006. She needs to get it passed on their meeting (first week of April), and then she'll let me know...but she said that they would probably jump on it.

If they do come and provide food services, they would secure their own paperwork and permit with the City of Surrey. The would have their own self contained unit with propane cookers and not need plug in power. They even have their own tent that they can set up. They also have their own required wash stations and fridges to keep the health department happy. What they do ask is enough space so that there are no vehicles too close to their propane, and to be able to put up a sign stating that the Lions Club is running the concession stand and that revenue go to benefit local charity programs that they are involved with.

I have told her that revenue generated by food sales can go directly to their public service programs as I don't see that there is any point in the Club taking a percentage of the food sales anyway. I told her that the Club would just be happy to have good food services provided for the event.

She said that usually for car show and shines, they setup in the morning and have breakfast available by donation, then they switch over to lunch by around 1030 and sell hot dogs and burgers. We should all make an effort to buy our breakfast there while we are setting up.

That's all for now.

Awesome - thanks Stone for checking into that.. Sounds Great!
