Romer,

How big is the new campground?
Would there be space for everyone?

Regards

Alvaro

I have never been there. They lady there wants to charge each person a tent fee even if they share an RV spot. What we need to do is let them know that people will go elsewhere if they do this.

The campground itseld is suppose to be nicer than slick rock and should be able to accomodate everyone.

I have stayed at both (Slickrock & Spanish Valley), both have definite trade-offs...

Andre (dieselcruiserhead) and I are considering camping outside of town this year, the invitation is open to all. One of us will spread the word as soon as we find a suitable location, I am heading down there in a couple weeks and hope to do a bit of scouting... :D

has anyone found out what the camping/rv fee is going to be at spanish trail we want to get a spot reserved, we will be driving out from so calif for our first year at moab 2 trucks w/campers and 2 40s plan on coming out tuesday to get set up and check it out before the wheeling starts

not exactly true. she wants to charge full price tent fees if you share a tent spot. she will not allow tents on rv spots, unless that's changed.

However, one of my problems with the slickrock campground is that you were so stacked up on one another that you could hear the bodily functions of the guy or girl in the tent next to yours.

OK were sorry & we were newlyweds at CruiserMoab 05-we will keep it quiet in 06.:whoops:

Nah, wasn't you.

That was back in CM'04

I didn't want to stay at the Slickrock Campgoung in '05.
I camped at the River Oasis CG.

This year, I am just going to stay up Kane Creek Canyon.

One other question. What's the temperature range in Moab in early May. Should I prepare for 40-70 degrees or some other range? What is the range for lows at night and highs in the day? I realize this can vary, just trying to get a feel as I get prepared.
Thanks,
Greg

It can get cold. It snowed a bit one day a couple years ago on us up on porki rim. It can and does rain as well. I would say your range is pretty close and some rain gear is a good idea.

Maybe we could have a second snow/pizza run while in Moab:grinpimp:

Well, after trying to contact someone at Spanish Trails for 2 weeks. I finally got a response back from an email I sent 4 days ago... Very impressive group there.

No room in the in. If I have an RV I can get a spot - but if I'm in a tent - the answer is FO. Not even putting a tent on an RV spot. They want RV's so people can shower and use facilities in their own RV's. The campground facilities are maxed out.

Holiday Inn Express - here I come:mad:

We will be contacting her tomorrow a.m. This is a surprise to us. As you know, it's a new campground for our event. We're not happy with all of these issues and poor customer service -- it reflects poorly on Cruise Moab.

We had her word that tents would be allowed on RV sites. To hear that she is turning away tent campers but accepting RVs is a major piss-off factor for me. We've traveled to Moab TWICE to talk to the campground owners in person. (It's 6 hours one way from Denver -- not a casual drive.)

We are doing our best to maintain an optimistic attitude about the new campground. After they meet everyone and see what great guests we are, then maybe CM 2007 will be smooth sailing.

We will keep everyone informed when we find out more info. Hopefully, we'll know more soon.

See you bozos on thurs or fri night.

I am camping with the whole fam damily out near the exit to Pritchett..

When I registered she stuck me in an RV site (with my tent) because I have a cargo trailer. She did not seem at all pleased to be taking my money.

My experience wasn't as bad as some. Yes she wasn't too chatty. However she did take my credit card number and she asked again what is my recreation vehicle and I replied, A lancruiser. This is our recreational vehicle. We'll see you all there,
Teresa

She also was not into assigning spaces at reg ( which could mean many things on the date of arrival) and I don't believe I got a confirmation number. Did anyone else get a number? or anything to confirm reg.?

There were no confirmations given.

There is camping on Sand Flats if we get skunked......
