I didn't make the cut for the Kokipelli overnight run, a little bit bummed about that as there was still several spots remaining when I signed up. But next time I guess.

Did they contact you already, Jeff? I haven't heard anything so far. Phone or email?

I (finally) got my trail assignments email. No Kokopelli run for me either.

Now I'll be prepping the trailer to take to set up a base camp. Still planning to leave April 28 morning.

Bummer J. Got my email today as well. We will have to think of something for the Wednesday now I guess.

I was planning on leaving the 28th as well, convoy?

Wednesday's a pretty open day. Tech in the morning, then go play for the afternoon. Lost of trails that can be run in just a few hours with a small group. I'm also going to try to do more hiking and general checking the place out this year.

Convoy could be good. You planning to shoot through in 2 days?

Why don't you guys go to the top of the world on the entrance to the kokopelli on your lay-day? it is about an hour from sand flats to the trail head...

Just checked out some pics and vids on that. Yep, that's gonna have to happen.
Thanks for the tip.

If you guys are leaving on the 28th you should be in Moab on Monday, you could always meet up with us. We will most likely be in Monticello about 1 hour south of Moab. I don't know what trails we will be taking into Moab but we always find something interesting. Lockheart Basin has been our most preferred route over the years and is well worth the drive.

I was wondering when Drew was going to chime in here ...

Lockhart basin is a great trail down in the bottom lands starts south of Moab and comes out in Moab

This would be a day run? Are you going to be arriving in town to camp at SR on Monday night? That might be fun.

So far the pre-CM activities planned are hiking in Arches park, heading to Top of the World, and taking my brother WAY up the Sand Flats road somewhere to a mtn bike trail he wants to ride. Not sure what day each of these will happen, but that's some of the plans.

well, if you go WAY up Sand Flats Rd, you end up at Top of the World...

Well if anyone decides to meet up with us looks like the plans have been cast in sand.

Glenn and his group will be in the Maze the 22nd -27th

I will be doing the Hole in the Rock Trail with another truck 24th -27th

and we will all be meeting up with the CSC group for the remainder of the trip

Saturday 4/28: meet in Blanding for dinner
Sunday 4/29: John’s Canyon, Natural Bridges, Trail of the Ancients, and return to Blanding.
Monday 4/30: Arch Canyon, Comb Ridge, travel to Monticello.
Tuesday 5/1: Elephant Hill then return to Monticello
Wednesday – Saturday: Moab

On Wednesday, May 2 after tech insepection for Claudia - I believe Michael ('Chase Truck' -CSC) has a run planned. I am sure he would not mind is you came along - he has been to Moab many times (at least 12) so he knows the area fairly well.
If not -- I am sure Kevin (CSC) will have a run plan for that day.

Some of are "wildcatting", so don't need to do tech. We are staying in Monticello on Tuesday night, going to Moab on Wednesday, will be running something, Lockhart maybe?

Those are in pencil, just some ideas, subject to change. The power of suggestion will be strong, if we hear. think of something good, likely to do some exploring. :hillbilly:
