Howdy! Yea, and that 40 has the rare military solid axles with offset differentials. What the heck is that?? John

You don't see those too often.

i think either many ppl are jumping the gun on the high gas prices and selling out,, or there really are alot of ppl living on that line at or above they're means,,, have you seen how many jones' are in the phonebook??

a.mus.ed, do the upgrades, it really kinda sucks having two capable rigs when deciding what to take out.

ya, that is really the only choice for me...i got big plans for petunia, can't give out on her so soon. :)

the decision, of course, has nothing to do with the :princess: telling me what i can and can't do.

I agree and I think things are only going to get worse as fuel costs increase. I really watched how I drove this last tank of gas, and I was able to get a 15.8 MPG average for here in town. I normally get about 13 MPG out of the 62.

I think the used SUV market is going to end up being a buyers market as more people dump their SUVs and move into more economical means of transportation. So I am waiting and watching carefully, as I want to pick up a fj40.:grinpimp:

Phil will like this one, I got 17 mpg driving from Alamogordo NM to Tucson today. Over 300 miles with a slight head wind for half the trip.

Want to test ranges again Phil?

You might know all about rocks, but I think your math is screwed up. :flipoff2: Best I ever got on 33's and stock gears was 16mpg. That was running around 65mph the whole time. That was also before I had any armor.
I have heard that thicker oil will decrease mpg's. That may be my problem. I'm getting good reports from Blackstone on my UOA's so I'll stick with it.

I run 15W-50 and got ~16.5 on the way to Moab last year with 295's.

Are you using corrected figures for the tire size/gear ratio. I know that my rig is 8.5% fast as it's setup. I'm running 15w40.

I know you didn't just question Tool's numbers. Right? :D

I didn't, Blues Dawg did the math, iirc he used 9%.

Well, there's your problem, Carl ran the numbers.
I GPS'd mine and found my speedo and odo to be 8.5% fast with 4.88's and 35's. So I subtract 8.5% off my mileage before I figure the MPG. The last time I ran my HWY numbers I was towing the trailer. Got 12mpg towing, lots of hills. Normally, I get 15-16 on the hwy, 11-12 in town.
