cracked head in spanish? :-)

Hello, I own a 1991 LJ78 Toyota Prado with it seems the notorious 2L-TE engine. I have the same problems as many people on the forum. The engine overheats very fast. When going a bit faster than 50 miles an hour the engine overheats and I have to take my foot of the gas. Timing belt is replaced, radiator has been cleaned, new water pump so my wild guess is that the heads are the problem. Now I live in Bolivia and I want to tell my mechanic that maybe the heads have to replaced, I want him to check those. Anyone knows what heads are in Spanish?

The first one simply states "crack head" which I believe is slang for someone with a drug problem
The second is probably the most accurate " crack of the head"
The third basically says the same thing
The forth one would probably get the message across but your Spanish teacher would only give you partial credit on a test for that answer.
Bare in mind that most of my Spanish language skills came from the menu at "Taco Bell"

If all else fails ....Do what John Wayne did in all of those old western movies when he was trying to communicate with the Native Americans. Hold up a large caliber pistol ( this gets their attention) and use sign language.
For example: point at your head with one hand and use the other hand to point at the engine head. Hopefully the mechanic will put 2 and 2 together and will not think you are talking about your engines receding hair line.......1978HJ45

Lets try something else. When reading the description of the problem my car has (when going faster than 50 mph the engine overheats), is it likely that the heads are cracked or could this problem occur for 1001 reasons? It's a landcruiser prado 2.4 diesel turbo with the 2L-TE engine (year 1991, orginally from Japan and shipped to South America). It also burns about 1 liter of motor oil every 700 miles.
When I first bought the car about 4 years ago the engine did not heat up. It did not have AC and as it can get pretty hot in eastern Bolivia we had AC installed. In order to do so the guy that installed the AC took out the thermostat. I read somewhere that this affects the cooling system. I am not sure if the engine overheating problem occured just after the thermostat was removed.

There are several garages in Canada that have extensive experience with the 2L-TE and my suggestion would be to contact them. Most of these garages are routine contributors to this Forum.

Hello,

"Cabezote" is also used for head. "Cabezote soplado" or "cabezote roto" can be used for cracked head.

In some places, "cabezote soplado" is slang for drunk.
