1KZ has all the problems of the 2L-T, just a bit more power. Far better options out there I'd stick with the 2L-T for originality though. Looks like you have one in good condition, given how clear the honing marks are.

I agree. That will be the plan. I was in contact today with a place out of Canada called Rocky Mountain imports? Sounds like he’s going to get me set up with the parts I need.

13B-T is the early turbo diesel that Toyota got right. Main problem with that engine now is parts supply.

Gotcha, if there was room in that engine bay I would be looking elsewhere. I saw a couple guys shoehorn 1hz’s in them but I want to retain air conditioning and an auto trans if I can.
