Could my non-heated seats actually have heated seats?

I have a 1998 LC which to my great surprise did not come with heated seats. I was disappointed when I first looked at it a few months ago, but everything else was great (and miles were only 109k) so I went ahead and bought it.

I was doing maintenance under the hood and popped open the fuse box and noticed there is not only a spot for the heated seats in the box, but there is also a fuse installed! Since it's so rare for these to NOT have heated seats, I am wondering if the wiring and heating elements are already there, but there is no switch installed. It has blanks where the switches usually go by the way. I was planning to unbolt the seats to look at the wire harness underneath, but it's been super cold here lately and it's dark by the time I get done with work. I'd love to be able to just wire in some switches and get some warm buns!

Do you think this is a possibility or a :smokin: dream?

Check the lower back of the seat and look for the harness for the back that comes down next to the hinge.

If not, it's an easy mod.

The harness is very likely under the console, Toyota just used one harness. Are you seats power and leather?

Yep they're the nice power leather ones with lumber (driver only). Here's the only decent pic I have with them from when I added the mats:

Ok great will do! I I know it seems straightforward from a mechanical standpoint, but it just seems like a lot of hours of time I can't seem to find. I also have an OME lift and some other fun things that are sitting in boxes waiting for me to have time to install :frown:

My Ozzie LX has the openings for the switches in the centre console and the connectors in the same console but not the heaters.
And I don't need them anyway.
I have used the positive and the negative from one connector for my spotligt switch. Very handy.

if you don't have the heat setup, you might try hitting up Slee - they sell a kit for the 80 series that i'm sure would work. otherwise, eBay has tons of variations.
