The price is right.....but I hate buying CR%P......if these are good or you can point me to some that are....I be smilling :)

Thx C

I'm curious too. OEM replacements are too much $$$$. But from what I have heard, most the aftermarket stuff is junk. I realize aftermarket is rarely as good as OEM, but if the price is right and they are at least adequate, I would buy.

I have them on my 60. They look great, but are not OEM. They are difficult to adjust, and vibrate a little. Overall I like them though. The biggest issue I had is the stops for the mirror location have me looking at the side of the truck without enough mirror adjustment to correct it. I have the driver side set in the middle of its swivel travel, not at its indexed stop. It doesn't move with normal driving, but I wish I could adjust the index so it would return to the same spot after wheelin' through brush and trees. I have to fiddle with it as it is now.

I have heard mainly negative feedback on any and all non-OEM mirrors for the 62.

If you are going to keep your rig and you want good results, I think it's best to pony up the $$. Often you can buy them used here on MUD. But you have to react quickly & sellers are aware that they warrant premium $$. Still way cheaper than new OEM however.

Go OEM, or don't go at all. I had a pair once, they were very cheap. The only metal piece is the mounting base, the rest is all plastic. I'm not even sure if the glass was actual glass.

I have some taiwan-style aftermarket cheapo jobs - I have to say, they don't really vibrate a whole lot, provide a great field of view (kinda wide-angle, and are aussie-style), and are VERY inexpensive. One of the features I like the most is the ability to angle the mirror straight down to the ground, the rear axle, etc.... makes it nice n' easy to follow that boulder as it passes down the snake blinders...

The CCOT mirrors are better than the original small mirrors. I would rather have them that the little stock ones and would not swap back. That said, the CCOT mirrors are of dissappointing quality, i.e. cheezy.

Are all the ones that were originally on 62's powered? or some normal?

Do they bolt right up to a 60?

I think I am In for another trip to the Junk Yard.

If the have 62 Mirrors, I may get em and De-Chrome them.

Check w/ Gary Schmauk (shmukster on MUD). He often has 62 parts and his prices are very low. If you are planning on de-chroming, you may be able to get a badly faded pair for cheap.

Some 62 mirrors were non-powered.

On 2 of my FJ60s I have 70 series mirrors that were take-offs from Canadian mine trucks. These bolt right up and provide a superior view over the stock 60 mirrors. There is a small gap under the mirror base but as far as I'm concerned it's inconsiquential.

i took off my mirrors on my 62, sanded them down and painted satin black to match the grill, what a huge difference

I have the CCOT mirrors. I paid something like $120/pr and for the price they're worth it.

x2. made a huge difference for backing my trailer...

Some asshat stole one of my mirrors on my 62. He stripped the screws on the other one thank God. I ponied up the cash for oem and dont regret it.

If you get some oem ones, make sure to strip the screws to discourage theives.

Also, if the f*ckt*rd who stole it is on here, then i hope karma comes to get you 10 fold.

Recently installed a pair of black 62 style mirrors from CCOT. What a huge improvement! They bolt right up and look great. There is some vibration of the mirror itself, not too bad though. You get what you pay for. I think I paid around $50 per mirror. If I had spent $200 per mirror I'm sure I would have got something nicer, but I am happy!

I bought a pair from CCOT a few years back and they vibrate ALOT. Very cheaply made as well.....
