Location
Vancouver Island...Stuck in Fort Mac.
Leaving for Costa Rica today and will be there until the end of august. The 40 section seemed to be the most frequented for travel to CR. I've got a 70 series rented and will be near Liberia, Playa del coco, Monteverde and Jaco. If Cruiserheads are local or in the area and would like to do some light wheeling, sightseeing please post up.
I'll the check this thread from an Internet cafe in coco and touch base with you then.
Cheers!

Are any new toyota dealerships in that area? see if you can get a test drive , if they won't let you , we still demand cruiser porn. :grinpimp:

Have you started calculating how long it would take to drive something home instead of fly yet? :flipoff2:

The ball and chain is already tired of me driving and snapping pics of cruisers...lol
I'll have piles of pics regardless and tons of 70 and 80's all proper-side drive everywhere. Pretty cool, amazing country!!!

There's a guy in Tamarindo that used to run 4x4 jungle tours using old 40's.

Search on here for jungle tours and you may find his info.

Tamarindo is about an hour west of Liberia.

My wife and I drove a 40 from Alaska to panama in 1993.... it took just over 30 days to get there.
It took 2 days just to get out of Alaska.
Awesome memories.............
Thanks for the reminder of a fantastic voyage when we were younger and could handle that rig for more than a few hours....
Maybe thats why I have so many back problems now...Im still drivin em!

"HONEY"......!!!!!!!

This summer when I go back Im going by Pauls shop, hopefully to get a tub. Costa Rica is great. MIke

WOW!!! What an epic trip that must have been! I've often thought of taking a few months away from work for just that reason. Maybe someday....

I was going to try and spend a couple days in San Jose, but plans changed as we got closer. I'll certainly try and stop in to check out the shop next time i'm back.
Cheers!
