I have yet to meet any of you guys on here because I don't have my off-road tires to join you on the trails. So I thought I would jump start the opportunity with an invite to the CORR off-road races in Chula Vista this weekend. If anyone is interested I am planning on going Saturday with a few friends for the first time. I am a fan of SCORE racing and figure this is the next best thing. Here is the info http://www.corracing.com/.

thanks for the invite.. but I cant go due to kids stuff.. as for the tires there is a certain slo guy here who wheels with the slickest street tires and makes it look easy maybe you could just follow him...

I understand with the last minute invite.

Yeah, no worries I hope to get my tires and skid plate before the Baja 1,000 in November.

*Tires still deciding between the $$BFG MT's$$ and the Cooper STT's*
*Skid plate probably going to get the larger plate from Iron Pig.

Favorite Scout trip of the year this weekend - going canoeing!

I shoot pics for two local CORR teams....attended 3 races this year in WI.

AWESOME action! Hopefully a few folks can attend this!!

That's cool, I never have been into the action photography much myself but I dig all types of photography. Here is my portfolio of Vehicle Shoots.

I think these are my next tires....don't now what size yet though, as it will be a while and maybe if I am lucky I will be lifted (or about to be lifted) by then.

http://www.kaikomotorsports.com is one of the teams, meeting with Chris tonite to work on his site layout...pics on there are of his Sportsmans2 rig, and he's got a Formula4x4 rig too (Formula is a regional only class)

http://www.vanridn.com is the other, just getting started on their site.

Pic1 is Kaiko's Sporty2, Pic2 is their F4x4...Chris had a 1st on Fri nite at Crandon with the F4x4, and Jim with VanRid'n took a 2nd on Sat with his, first time on the podium :D

I'll have to find my pics from Sunday's Cup race....sweet 4pic sequence of Johnny Greaves and his Potowatomie Toyota Tundra Pro4 doing a cartwheel thru Turn 1 during the start :D

I will be hanging with Skyjacker Suspension; they are one of my accounts in our books. I am taking my camera too; hope to get some good shots. I am going to see if I can borrow my buddy's 75 to 200 2.8 with a 2x doubler, should get me close to the action, what were you shooting with? Those shots look great.

Nikon D50, Tamron 70-300mm, UV filter...no tripod, and I varied between the auto-sports settings and aperature control settings

took over 800 photos over Labor Day weekend...all at RAW/jpg quality, about 6m per shot....close to 5gig once done.

Kaiko is using a handful for their marketing stuff, and I talked with Maxxis tire while I was there too....reminds me, I need to contact them....

It did help to be ON the track and literally 10-15' from the action...I have more than once where I was getting pelted in the back with dirt/rocks as I was shooting, and twice where I scrambled as a truck lost control.

You may not need the doubler....that may push you SO close you can't get perspective....most of my shots were not at full 300mm zoom.

Kaiko discussed dragging their Sporty2 out to the CA race for this weekend, but the motor is blown...course, he informed me yesterday that they have two East Coast races coming for http://www.supertruckchallenge.com as well....that's tonite's meeting...lol

Nice shots woody. With all that clarity are those two really less than 87.9KB? :flipoff2:

Bluetribal thanks for the invite but can't make it this weekend. Look forward to seeing you on the trail though.

the first is 72.77 KB (74513 bytes) ;)

the original jpg is 758000ish....and the RAW image is 5,000,000ish....

the power of the resize..... ;)

two more pics too.....first is Chad Hord and his Boss Snowplow Nissan ProLite truck...this pic was from Sat's race during turn 1...his team had the truck back together for Sunday's race....

pic 2 is Johnny Greaves and his Potowatamie Toyota Tundra Pro4.....turn 1 again, during the finaly Cup race, where the 2wd rigs take off about 30 seconds prior to the 4wd rigs....makes for a VERY exciting race...

Hope some folks make the event this weekend, it's a GREAT time!
