Cooper ST or ST-C vs Nitto TG

I have am trying to decide between the Cooper ST, ST-C (now available in 285/75 r 16) and the Nitto Terra Grappler. I have read all your great info on the NIttos and wanted to know if anyone was running the Cooper ST or ST-C on a 100 and your thoughts. I use my 100 as a DD and light trail use at Uwharrie and beach driving at Hatteras. Also, pictures of the ST and ST-C mounted on a 100 would be great.

A bunch of guys in my local club run the STT and they are very fond of them, those ST-C look really good. I have the TG and the only thing I didn't like about them was their weight and they took tons of weight to balance.

I had the STTs and they were to aggressive (loud) for a daily driver. The ST-C has a higher speed rating and says uses a chip/cut resistant compound. I am thinking one of the coopers would be better down south because of the red clay mud we encounter. I know ATs don't work real well in that stuff however the tread on the coopers seems more suited to it.

A local tire place told me the STT's were just as quiet as the ST's...??? Maybe not true? I had the ST's on a Super Duty, and loved them. Great in all types of weather, off road, snow (siped), but no real mud testing, and just a slight whine. I now have the Nittos on my 100, and they are fine. Slightly quieter than the ST's. Have not tested in the mud (and I run Blizzaks in the winter). They just aren't as aggressive as I would like... I think the ST is more of a true all terrain tire than most AT tires out there today. I was really wanting to get a more aggressive tire like the STT or the Toyo Mud tire, and liked the reports of them being reasonably quiet, but your post makes me wonder...

ST-C's...

I've had 2 sets on my Disco which was my DD but is now primarily a beach buggy. Great all around traction and wear. It's an aggressive AT more on par with a Goodyear MTR which still suck in east coast mud, but MUCH better than BFG ATKOs. I have the ST in 275/70R18 on the LC. If they made the ST-C in that size they would be on the LC as well.

I'v had pretty good luck with mine so for, except for some chunking out of tread in places. They have about 10K on them now and they do get a little louder as time goes by. They are good in the snow, and a little extra volume on the stereo on the highway and you don't really notice the noise.
