So i need to change tires, I really dont have the money to purchase new tires so i need to buy used ones... I have 2 options, either cooper discoverer stt or the maxxis bighorn.
The tires are both 35" and are for a fj40, i use the car for both offroad and normal use, but either way i want the best tire for 4x4 i really don't care about how the work on the road...
Which would you suggest?

Also the cooper arent the new ones, they are the older version which dont have as much traction on the sides as the newest ones

I've ran a set of Big Horns on a 4x4 for both on/off road use and my brother had a set on his 4runner as well.

For a radial MT I thought they were a good tire; especially for the price. I know I would recommend them over the Hankook DynaPro (the other MT's I had on that same truck). Not sure how they compare to the Coopers since I've never used them.

I've had some Coopers and wouldn't recommend them, although they weren't on a '40. Mine cupped and wore out way to fast IMO, even though I was rotating them according to schedule.

And I've heard good things about the Maxxis Bighorns. I'd grab those.

Buddy of mine has the STT's, damn fine tire. They grab and go, no messing around. That's what's going under my 40 series when the current Cooper all-terrains wear out.

Currently running the STT's on my 4Runner in a 285 and their great. Haven't cupped or anything. I would recommend them and I've had many different mud tires.

I like the Cooper SST. I got over 50K from them on my 40. They do not dry out nearly as fast as the BFGs do here in the desert. I'm not a hardcore wheeler but I also had no trouble rock crawling with them.

BIghorns for sure Im running them on my 3/4 ton pickup and they wear like iron 30k on them and plenty of tread left. some off road too. they are going on my FJ55 when the current tires wear out.
