Hey,
Recently bought an lx470 and it’s blowing white smoke. Smells like coolant in oil and oil is a tiny bit milky. I did a block test for head gasket failure and it passed fine. No bubbling in coolant and fluid didn’t change color. The smell is terrible from the exhaust. I got it super cheap knowing it was possibly a hg failure according to old owner but now I’m not sure. Could it be the oil cooler? It had a new radiator, heater core, and thermostat all done in the last few years. Just not sure where I should start for diagnosis. I’m not driving it so I can disassemble as needed.

I also just did a compression test. I was by myself so I’m not sure if the reading dropped at all while I ran to look but I looked them all and they were all between 160-170psi. In the fsm the range is 142-192+.

Is the p/s level dropping? What if it’s not coolant but ps fluid getting sucked into intake from the idle up valve?

Change engine oil/filter
Replace idle up valve

Monitor coolant and oil levels and re check

Are you talking about the idle air control valve?

I tried a leak down test towards the end of my day. For some reason the air was seemingly coming out of the spark plug hole still. Not sure I’m doing it right. Haha
