That is almost true. I finally made my "toyota" socket line. 10,12,14,17 in 3/8 and 1/4, and I have a small bucket in the bottom of my toolbox with all my unused sockets, 11mm, 13mm, 15mm,16mm,18mm.

She stuck the landing!!! Let's see how the judges rated the performance.

Incredible.

I wonder how many inches he added to the 80 frame.

The build I am planning is similar, but different. All that work to have a fixed top is not in my future. I have been collecting parts for a while, including the same bed on that Slee rig. Still have a few parts I need, but should be the next "big" project at my shop. My son wants a UTE 80, so that is the only thing that might slip in and delay it.

I plan to take the 80 (that is in my barn), using all the running gear, stretch it about 16"-18", take off all the sheet metal, and drop a 45 body (stretched 6") on it. Sounds easy, right??? Well, likely will have to widen the entire 40 series by 4" or so.

Take a look at this thread for a good idea of what I am looking at......

Quad Cab - 4 door coil sprung shortened troopy/extended swb build

We got extra frame sections off of Sturgis to extend the frame, got axles off of Bobbit, and have those in the shop to rebuild, have the cab slice off of bobbit, have seats from BMW with integrated belts. Got a 45 cab top that I am trading with Erik for metal one. I have all the 40 series sheetmetal and tub for dissecting. Got my eye on a low mileage engine, but the one in it would be fine too. Supercharger is also on the list to get. :)

Who said they don't make portal axles for the 80's....we just have to take a field trip to Russia.
