I have the chance to get a ceiling mounted heater from my shop. It is currently in town and runs on Natural Gas.

How hard would it be to switch it to Propane? The few people I've talked to said "it's just a jet".

It is one of those deals that I can have it if I take it down. Sounds easy until you realize you need to rent a fork lift.

It should just be an orifice (jet) for the gas. I have a ceiling mounted propane Mr. Heater I just put in my shop. In the instructions, there was a section with a part number if you wanted to convert it to NG.

Not sure how complex this is on a heater, but when I converted the dryer at my house from NG to propane, it was literally only one little nozzle.

Maybe get look online at the manufacturer of the heater and see if they have a conversion kit?

Your propane supplier probably would be able to convert it also. Just don't blow yourself up trying to rig something.

is there enough room for a man lift? they work well and can carry a load, plus you'll be safe

It is located over a set of stairs. I should be able to get to it with extended forks on a regular fork lift.

I'm thinking it might be a bigger pain in the but than it is worth.

Just change out the jets/orfices. Propane jets are real small compared to Nat gas.

Have fun.

Should be a set of 4-6 screw in orifices on a common rail. Get the model num and pick up the orifice kit. 5 minute fix.
