Hi smart ones, looking for simple instructions to convert my 85 HJ75 from a external voltage regulator to internal regulator. Thanks.

Original wires were for 12V or 24?

I would bet that the main charging wire is the only one to worry about being too thin.
can you check the diameters of the copper?

While the physical plugs are different than what I dealt with on my 3F, since you’re dealing with 12V I imagine the wiring changes are similar. Check out my thread on making the same conversion...

If you have your wiring diagram handy it’s a straightforward modification.

Yes that is the charging connection.
The 3 wires in the green connector are probably a battery voltage sensor wire, a wire to the dashboard alternator light (or maybe gauge) and a wire to the “ignition” key switch.
I think the wire gauge of those three is not going to be a problem.

Im also interested in doing this on my 3F. Does anyone have a wiring diagram handy?
