Alright gents and ladies, thought I would swing over and have a discussion with you folks. I currently have a pretty nice 40 that pretty much is a street cruiser and is too nice to scratch up.. I am looking for a better expo platform and the 80 hits the mark. However what I love about the 40 is the option of going topless. Has anyone on here seen or know of any 80s that have been professionally converted? I spoke to some people in Cali and was told this could be done

Done*** so do any of you have pics? Names? Ideas? I think that if I could get into a locked 80 for a good price I wouldn't mind take the chance of having the top chopped off if it can be professionally done. I'm in Texas.... Looking forward to hearing from ya all! Merry Christmas!

I'll have to look into it, Fzj 40 eh? I think that a soft top on the 80 would put the icing on the cake

Search for avocado. Dan had a soft top on his 80.

Not professionally done, but my 80 ended up a convertible. I drove it 350 miles to Turf-N-Surf and really enjoyed the open air. I eventually may have a top professionally done to "winterize" it, but have recently done my own to provide a little shade.

No we don't

Yes, his thread is very thorough and detailed with pics. If I am not mistaken, most of it was done in his own driveway with his own two hands. And done pretty damn quick if you ask me.

Excellent! This is reinforcing my thought that I need to do this.

You still around here Sully? I’m wondering if you ever chopped that 80 down? Pics? Advice? I’m really thinking of doing it.
