I'm looking for people that want to run the continental divide this year. My plan would be to do it south to north, but I could do it the other way. I've done it once before as part of a guided tour. I have the GPX files from that trip. We did a lot of dirt road. All of it fire road quality, some of it very good.

Anyway - 10 days to 2 weeks. Albuquerque or further south to Montana. I'd love to cover a bit more of Colorado than just go straight through, I'd love to hit some of the famous passes.

I'm pretty flexible as to dates.

Anyone interested

Did you see my trip review from this year in the PMC newsletter? Thanks to Jerry S from Toys on the Rocks and the Manly Man group, we spent nearly 2 weeks tagging all the high elevation passes around Ouray and Telluride and many others. Bucket list item... done.

I would like to join just depends on when and for how long the trip would be. Maybe the 100 will be running by then. 🙏

So, late summer would be good, avoiding extreme heat in the southern part of the trip.

The trip takes at least 10 days. that's how long it took when I did it, and I felt like we were rushing the entire way.

It's an 1,100 mile trip (more or less). And a lot of the trip is on gravel or dirt, so the speeds are way down. 100 miles can take most of the day.

Yes, you could spend a month.

I want to be on the maybe list too!

Here's an old GPX file for the trip we did in 2016. Albuquerque to Montana. I have no idea how valid it still is. But the general idea is there. It rushes through Colorado, it actually rushes the entire thing, but we could certainly spend more time in Colorado and take a few passes. The pass they took over to Breckenridge was basic and busy, especially on the Breckenridge side. But the routes through New Mexico, southern Colorado, Wyoming were good, lots and lots of back road. I especially loved the red desert.

Here's my first attempt at an itinerary. We'll see how this sheet pastes.

the group I went with starts from Albuquerque because it was easy for everyone to get to. No real magic to starting there.
At the north end, once you come out of Yellowstone, there are some options. My son is in Bozeman.

One foot in front of the other all day! See unbelievably cool stuff for hundreds of miles you couldn’t otherwise experience, campfire, get high, beer or two in the evening, cowboy camp under the stars with the mountain lions and coyote’s, you know, Basic dude stuff! @RevISK
