Greetings,

My wife and I are considering selling our 2008 200-series TLC and I’d like to solicit the group’s advice on a couple of issues or ideas. I hope this is the correct section for posting this non-technical posting.

First, ours is a bright silver with black interior, fully loaded vehicle with about 80,000 miles on it. It’s in great shape overall and is generally my pride and joy. I’ve mildly customized the vehicle with the intent of keeping it forever, including dual battery system with automatic relay. The secondary battery is wired on two separate circuits to the luggage area for powering a UHF/VHF radio, fridge, etc. I’ve also built a two-drawer unit in the rear with an ARB slide-out fridge mount (fridge not included in potential sale). The drawer unit is very solid and offers quite a bit of extra storage. All services up-to-date with all four brakes (pads and rotors) replaced recently. Tires are Michelin all-terrains with plenty of treadlife remaining.
I also have a custom-built Ruger M416 trailer that is powder-coated and outfitted to match the LC. It has the same OEM wheels and matching tires, so both trailer and LC share spare tires. Trailer is in like-new condition with only minimal use. It has a Thule adjustable rack on top that currently holds my roof-top tent (tent not included in potential sale) and a large rack area on the tongue. This particular model has a drop down tailgate in the rear and a pneumatically assisted lid (no issues lifting the lid with the RTT mounted). Trailer is equipped with electric brakes which makes towing it a dream. Trailer has LED lights all around and also has backup lights. I also had landing legs installed on the rear of the trailer to help level and stabilize it when camping.
I’d would specifically like advice or recommendations on the sale price, should we choose to part with the LC. What seems to be the going rate lately? Also, what are the thoughts on trying to sell the trailer and LC together since they’re more or less a matched set? I appreciate the forum’s collective wisdom and thank you in advance for the help.
John

Sadly, mods never fetch what you put into them, but to a group like us, I bet you can get most of your investments back.

I have a feeling you might be better off selling the trailer separately, as its going to be even harder to find a buyer that is interested in both the 416 and a 200.

That being said, a solid low-mileage 2008 should fetch you at least $35k or $36k, throw in maybe another $1000 - $2000 for dual battery system and drawers, and misc, and I would think you would have no trouble asking somewhere around $36k or $38k. Maybe $39k with trailer??

EDIT: I could be totally wrong of course!

Thanks! There's such a disparity among the top vehicle pricing tools that it's really hard to ascertain what fair market value is for such a unique vehicle. One pricing tool is saying $30K is fair and another is saying $40K is fair. Your estimate is certainly right in the middle and about where I figured I would land. Hopefully, more will chime in with recent transactions and prices they've seen for 200s.

I've been searching for a 200 for a couple months now and MSCruiser is pretty much spot on. 08s with low mileage are in the 37 - 38 k range. If you are looking to sell the cruiser and trailer, I would post up on expeditionportal. They, much like this group would appreciate the work you have put into your truck/trailer combination.

John,

I would be interested in you trailer. Would you be willing to email me some additional photos? I am in PA!
