That looks nice !
You should of just cherry hammered the old one like we did with mine.
I tried, but mine was way worse than yours. Much easier this way.

Wiring harness and pedals are in. One step closer to firing this thing up.

Got the old clutch out today. Rear seal had I little bit of oil seeping, so I'm going to replace it since it's all opened up. The oil pan was a bitch to drop. I don't think it's ever been off. Got worried when I drained the oil and it had some gas in it, but remembered when I first got this motor it had some Holley 4bbl carb on it. When I fired the motor, it ran, but gas was pouring out of it down the intake. Cylinder walls look good from what I can see.

Got a couple things done yesterday. Rear main seal is in and clutch master cyl and fj80 brake master is on. Picked up another flywheel from a local guy and need to get it to a shop that knows how to machine it.

So I tracked down another flywheel and got it to another machine shop (C&C performance thanks @1MOA) that knew what they were doing. Had a rain day at work, so I got everything back together today. Trans will go in Sunday and I'm going to hopefully fire the motor also. We shall see.

Trans is in and the body is finally bolted down for good. (Knock on wood). Got most of the wiring hooked up when I realized I hadn't tighted the exhaust manifold and intake down. Pulled the carb off and called it a day. May need some help with getting this carb and timing all set up if anyone might have some time in the next couple weeks.

If you need help retarding it I'll be there :hillbilly:

There is no better feeling than working on something for a couple years and finally getting to here it come to life. Still more to do, but nice to know I have hooked everything up correctly and that I wired the '78 ignition switch to the original '71 switch the right way. I'm smiling like a possum eating persimmons right now!

When you come out to the shop 4 days after your 1st start up and find $50 worth of oil on the shop floor instead of where you put it Sunday. Son of a bitch!:meh: Anyone have a good 2f oil pan?
