Completed! Offroad utility trailer build

I decided to build a dedicated trailer for all my family camping gear. It will be based on this design. Props to @UZJ40 for the inspiration and blazing the trail. I needed more of a visual aid so I drew out what I'm going to attempt to fab:

As you can see it's incomplete. The fenders will be completely covered and the whole thing will be fully enclosed with a door on the front driver's side as well as the swing out door on the back. A few of the missing things include a small ARB awning on telescoping legs that will extend out to the rear, lighting, water-related items, max coupler, and many other small bits and pieces.

Some specs:
- 4'W x 6'L x 2.33'H (not including the integrated tongue box)
- 2"x2"x.120" frame, 2"x4"x.120" bumper, 3"x3"x.250" and 2.5"x2.5"x.25" draw bars
- 14 ga skin and floor, 16 ga table
- 3500lb Dexter axle with self adjusting electric brakes and Monroe shocks
- 5x150 adapters
- matching 35" wheels/tires
- 82qt ARB fridge (purple)
- Chuck box drawers with pull out cutting board and Camp Chef stove
- 40 gal water tank with pump system
- Propane shower
- Sink
- CVT Mt Ranier Extended RTT
- No Rotopax, that space will be used for the trailer jack mounts
- and I'll probably add more as I go

Shocks installed. Had to double shear these effin massive heavy duty shocks!

Made a handle out of two spare hitch pins. Kinda low but saves $.

Plasma cutter was at my bro's, so I hand cut the sheet with a cutoff wheel

Safety chain loops

Zip tabs for the wiring. These surprisingly take a long time since I tacked like 30 of them.

Finished the draw bar. Made the large reinforcement collar from scratch. Maybe add another handle on the end of the sliding tube.

Two jack mounts installed on the front. The pic makes the draw bar look long but it is 4' from the front of the trailer to the hitch ball center (or swivel bolt in this case).

I start my build in a week or so. I’m stealing the handle idea. I can only dream of the weld quality your showing.

How are you planning to handle the surface prep and painting?

Thanks! The handle is pretty low. If you do it try and keep as much material as possible when grinding the flats.

Not sure about the paint yet. Raptor liner all over would be easiest, but I'm not really a fan of the bumpy finish. After seam sealer, I was thinking maybe POR-15 the whole thing, top coat the body with Rusto bed liner rattle cans and the undercarriage with 3M undercoat.

I was checking out the new 2 part Eastwood chassis satin rattle can. I want something that is better than normal, but still something I can touch up.

Just thought of a take it on/off handle made from a soft shackle. Hmmm.....

I agree, easy touch ups are the way to go. I'll have to check out that stuff from Eastwood.

ARB awning room, toilet setup, 2 x privacy shelters, giant heavy duty tarp, 2 x tables, 4 x chairs, and it only takes up half the space!

Hot shower with all quick connects
