Over the weekend, and with the help from a good friend, I completed a drawer system build for my 97 LX450. It was based around a frame purchased from here:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/lc100-fj80-and-now-fj55-cargo-drawer-frames.757936/

All of the material, including slides, handles, carpet and wood, were purchased from my local Lowes. It took all of Saturday, and most of Sunday to get this done using a table saw, router, jig-saw and skill saw. I'm VERY pleased with the results.

Here are some pictures, which really do speak 1000 words. I put the entire thing together for under $400, a far-cry from what this would have cost if I purchased an aftermarket system.

The frame is tied down into the factory rear tie-downs using a metal backstrap. Very solid and secure.

And how does your dog like the window being lower?

Believe it or not, I adopted that dog two days before I started the drawer system build. He didn't quite know what to make of it yet!

Nice I have a lab and want a drawer system but wonder if it would make her back hit the top of the window. You will have to let me know how he does with it.

How is your CO2 bottle secured? A high speed whoop could send that into your roof and of course a roll could send it everywhere.
Here is how I secured mine. LINK

Drawer dividers could also be helpful to keep things from flopping around.

I thought about doing drawer dividers, but I first wanted to locate some pouches similar to what you're using. Poking around on Amazon, I found this set of color-coded Klein cordura bags:

As for the Co2 canister, it isn't secured at the moment. I merely put it in place to test fitment. Where did you get your mount? That's what I need to order up next.

Mark, where did you get the orange, embroidered zipper bags?

+1

I just noticed the bags were embroidered. I would love to get something like this.

You can go to your bank and ask for bank bags. They come in all sizes and some are under lock and key.

Yup exactly a great $1 store find that is still holding up great! And had a guy who did embroidery in a flea market stitch them up for $8 I think?

As for the co2 bottle mount it came with my bottle from Ultimate air but I don't think the company is around anymore.

The mounts can be purchased at pretty much any off road shop. Heck here is mine collecting dust. Never mind that H55 also sitting and collecting dust :flipoff2:

Sell me that tranny NLXTACY.... not the one you got stuffed in your trunk either. :flipoff2:

Ha, not sure you'd want this one. It has so few miles on it and not enough of Mr. T's rust proofing. That being said, I may wind up not using it after all. :hmm:
