So I've been talking alot about it here and there for a few months now, but I finally have my 80 series rear axle under my FJ60. Due to a broken collar bone, I have been unable to do pretty much anything. But thanks to my bros Andre (dieselcruiserhead) and Tovin, the swap is pretty much done. Only thing really left to do on it is the parking brake cable. Then just throw on the sky's widening kit up front, put in the longs, throw on the new wheels and tires, finish wiring up the damn lockers and I'm ready to roll.
For all those who were wondering, the 80 series rear measures 63" WMS-WMS and the 60 series rear measures just under 58" WMS-WMS. So the 80 series is 5" wider than the 60 series. I will be compensating for that by running 80 series wheels that have 4.5" backspacing. I was running 2" backspacing wheels. So with this axle, I went out 2.5" each side, but will be coming back 2.5" each side with the 80 series wheels.
Perfect. The front is the sky's kit.
