I'm going to be ordering a set of Metal Tech sliders for the Hundy to take advantage of their Cyber Monday sale. If I can have them shipped to a commercial address it costs $140 for shipping instead of $230 to my home address. Has anyone done this sort of thing before? Any suggestions? The only thing that comes to mind is if the Shaman would receive them at AmToy and then I go pick them up from there. Other thoughts or suggestions?

Have them ship to the terminal as a "dock hold for CPU". It should be cheaper than even a commercial address and both MT and freight carriers are used to doing.

This - but check where the nearest terminal is. If MT uses one shipper than you might have to drive a bit. If they use a brokerage then you should be able to get a closer terminal.

Check on that but if you need a commercial address PM me and I will give you mine.

Excellent ideas. I now have a Plan A and a Plan B. Thanks.

This is the method I've used in the past to receive the front ARB bumper and a TV, easy peasy.

Am I allowed to un-band it and load it into my smaller trailer in pieces or do I have to take it all at once as an assembled pallet?

In my case, the entire pallet wouldn't fit inside the wife's Legacy wagon so she and another guy took the pallet apart (I was on a business trip). They disposed of the packaging and allowed her to shove the bumper in the wagon. This was eight years ago, not sure if they still allow this anymore!

Since you have a trailer, I'd just have them load the pallet with their fork truck and head home. Technically, it's not their job to take pallets apart for customers but people can be nice at times.

I had the same thing done when I got my sliders from Slee.. they just brought the pallet out on a forklift and left it there for me for 10 minutes while I slid them into my truck. Let me know when you go if you need help. I think the place I picked up was just off Jefferson between Ellison and Osuna.

Ya, ship to the dock and pick them up. Way cheaper. ABQ has a plethora of shipping warehouses/companies so your odds are great. When MT shipped my roll cage that is exactly what I did.

As long as the pallet will fit between the wheel wells of my Chevy LUV trailer, it will be no sweat. Otherwise I will need to do some disassembly at the dock. I can probably get MT to tell me the dimensions of the pallet it ships on so I'm prepared when I show up. Thanks for the offer to help Ron. I'll let you know if I need some help.

Marc,

When I had my MT sliders shipped they were sent to one of the terminals near Unser/40. I was able to take them off the shipping pallet and put them inside my 80. I'd have to look for the exact name of the place, but that one would be real close to you.

With lots of help from Terrill I got my sliders today. I can't believe how massive they are. Maybe I'll even get them installed before Christmas.
