any thoughts on these numbers for a starting rate? From the BV spring rate calculator for a 12 shock with 42" links and vertical CO

tender 250
main 450

Front CSW is 1250lbs
1/2 axle/tires/suspension 450lbs

Where should I start on the shocks? 300/100? (the 255/80 that where on it are way to soft)

Yup, that's fully laden. (PTO winch, armor, 3 batteries, expo gear etc) Measurement taken with scales at each corner. (the back is closer to 1700!!) I told you it was a heavy rig at 7400lbs

My old shock where bilstiens. The new Coil overs will most likely be Kings as I can get good support here in canada for them.

I'm running 300 over 350 and I think it's a bit soft with big block and two batteries... I still have to add a winch and a bumper too.

keep in mind that 12H-T bitch it's heavy ( with huge H ) so to me ( more less the same heavy bitch 2H-T ) it will be 400 over 300 and yes .. 300/100 on valving ..

Edit: There is guy in 80 section who's running 3 link on front with 12" IIRC and he's happy with 450 over 350 IIRC ( wou .. can't remember clearly right now ) you can also check on Dusty setup here in the hard core section who's also 3 linked in front on his 80 ..

Edit2: here is the link to the Jodo project ..

OK, so I what do i want for options??

2.5" 12" King coil over
remote reservoir
compression adjustors? Any one use these? Are they going to be useful on a multi purpose rig?
300 tender
450 main
chrome? Canadian winters are hard on stuff.
400/100 valving for shocks

I think you are on the right track.

Not much to report. Life getting in the way. Coil overs, shock and air bump stops shipped today after a 6 week wait. I should get back at it after they arrive.

Parts are slowly trickling in. Still waiting on the double ended hydro assist from EMF. It looks like I am going to use a LHD 60 series steering box on the inside of the frame. I got a 74 box but I was going to have clearance issues with tires at full lock. Once I have the steering located, everything else should come together pretty quick.

I am going to update my rig-of-the-week thread and move this build over there. I will post up a link once I have updated it.

well, not getting much feedback over in the 60 section so I thought I would revive this thread.

It's coming along. Just need to get the bump stop pads figured out, weld on the other coil over mount and then start working on the panhard...

New "almost" ride height. I should have a set of bump stops and panhard mounts in place tomorrow.

and my kick ass track bar

Talk about tight clearances. I still need to gusset and clean up some welds but it is coming together quickly.

blasted it yesterday and got epoxy primer and urethane top coat on it today.

Now I just have to do the same to all the links...

looks good Brad, looks like you got a lot of fender trimming ahead of you.

links blasted and painted. They should be permanently on the tuck this weekend!!

I also made the lower links for the rear. They are same length as the front lowers. Not sure if this was a good idea or not but in means I only need to carry one spare to fit any of the lowers. Overall length eye to eye is 42" which I think is pretty good.

passenger side links complete. Next up the driverside. Still need the fishplate, bumpstop can and CO hoop.

Driver side fishplate, bump can, track bar mount and a start on the CO hoops.

Are you going to have enough slip in the front drive shaft?
