Is it possible to add a coil spring to the existing suspension on a 62 to stiffen it and add a little lift. I was thinking it looks like if you got the right size spring you could jack up the truck until the axle dropped all the way and squeeze one inbetween the top of the axle and bump stop thing on the frame. Just thinking

that link is really hard to see the coil.

in fact I don't see it.

got another one?

Yeh, you can't see it. I was just illustrating that it can be done. I have some pictures of it done to a Hilux, but not a 60.

the simple answer is yes .. but thing, if you add a coil itś needs to be realy soft, tu mantain your actual springs setup, and reazonable rate ..

in other case, you maybe use 1 or 2 leaf to get the diferential positioned, and one more " strong " coil to do the work in the suspension ..

I'd go with airbags. More expensive, but they have adjustable load settings and they're easier to adapt to articulation under load.

the heck with that just get an add a leaf.....that will stiffin it up and add 1 to 2" of lift. keep it easy brotha....

how much would four add a leafs cost and how much work would be involved

I bought two beefy add a leafs down in Mexico. They will give around a inch lift and the cost was around 80 bucks, so for 4 you can guess around 140-160. As far as the labor goes, you take off your spring and "add" it to your spring pack and there you go.

addd a leafs cost about 50 bucks per end and what he said above for the installl....not really all that hard.

add a leaf r nice and easy .. to get some lift about 1" to 2" no more then that but is good to start ..

I put the add a leaf on mine in the rear, still need to do the front, It lifted the cruiser about 4inchs. But my springs where so wore out they where bottoming out the shocks. I had to weld in new shock mounts, they were broke from the shock bottoming out. Only took a couple of hours.

Do I need to know what kind of springs I have already or does it not matter. I assume I have the oem springs but I am not sure because I have an ome steering stabilizier. If I do need to know how can I tell

nope no need....just order them from man-a-freaks...
