Any spec differences between the rear coil springs on on AHC-equipped 2006 LC versus 2006 LX? They have different part #'s. I was about to order springs from a factory parts vendor, and the issue of the different part #'s came up. Is it possible that the LX springs are softer for a cushier ride? If so, could the LC springs be used instead? Or is the AHC system dialed in to the specific spring specs of the respective vehicle, assuming there is a spec difference?

Old thread, but shows up in search so I thought I would clean up. Here are some details about the four part numbers:

And a longer discussion starting here:

Looks (to me at least) that the LC coil is 6.5 turns and the LX coil is 5.5 turns, total turns counted end to end. The wire diameter is important to the rate as a 1% change in diameter changes the rate by 4%.

Measured the cross sectional diameter of the springs and the LX springs are thicker by 0.013 (.472 vs .485). Using Paddo's 4:1 ratio, the LX spring is 10% stiffer than the LC.

I can see the extra turn in the LC spring now. The LC springs are approximately 10% longer. So further confirming the idea that the LC and LX springs have the same load carrying capacity on level ground.

Not sure if it's still the case, but when I tried to buy new OEM LX rear springs for my 01 LX470 probably 2 years ago, I was told they were no longer available. I substituted 06/07 LC AHC coils. Once coil is taller than the other, the taller one goes on the drivers side.

Here's the info I went off of before ordering King springs and sticking them in this last weekend. Pretty happy with the results.

All else being equal is there a height difference in the LC vs LX coils or is it just ride quality/spring rate thing?
