CC MEETING COMING UP THURSDAY MAY 11. ;p
I GUESS THE FIRST QUESTION IS: WHERE WILL WE HAVE IT? MAYBE ROB MIGHT BE OUT OF THE HOSPITAL AND IN A WHEELCHAIR, MAYBE NOT. WE SHOULD HAVE AN ALTERNATE LOCATION JUST IN CASE HE'S NOT UP FOR IT. ANY IDEAS? WHAT ABOUT THE SUPPER LOCATION TOO?
AT THE MEETING WE MUST FINALIZE PLANS FOR THE MAY LONG WEEKEND TRIP TO THE CHURN CREEK WILDERNESS AREA.
ALSO, ROB MAY HAVE DECIDED BY THEN WHETHER HE WILL STILL M.C. THE CRUISER DAYS OR NOT. WE SHOULD HAVE A BACKUP PERSON FOR THAT TOO.
WE SHOULD DISCUSS WHERE WE WANT TO GO FOR THE JULY AND AUGUST LONG WEEKEND RUNS AS WELL. WHIPSAW? GREYSTOKES? MIKE McT, ANY SUGGESTIONS?

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO NEED ROB'S HOSPITAL PHONE NUMBER, I WILL BE OUT OF TOWN MAY 4-8. YOU CAN GET IT FROM PHIL S OR CHARLA D IF I AM NOT AROUND.

Hi Bill:

Rob has told me that he would like to withdraw from being MC at the event, because his recovery will take around 9 months...and this is totally understandable. So, as mentioned in the CD'06 thread...we need to vote on a new MC. Any volunteers?

Thanks.

As unpopular as this may be, I believe that as we as a club are approaching any and all venders to attend, who may be in direct competition with Extreme Bends, I believe any MC should have not be a vender or have a direct vender tie. Was not one of the reason JP shut it down was "other" vender encroachment? This will eliminate the possibility of "perceived" issues, and having shops/people not attend with their wares. While Rob works on Cruisers, I believe he was not buying a booth, so this was not as large an issue.

Keep it clean, keep it neutral...for the MC end of things.

what about Clarence?
he can always bring a smile to my face...
then again i am not a member....
cheers

well put, that's the main reason why I don't feel I'm the right person for the MC position. We all know I have the looks and public speaking voice but as a long time club member, I think the MC should be totally neutral.

as the club pres. I should still do a "thanks to all the hard working members, thanks to all the vendors and everyone who came out to attend" speach

But thanks for the vote!

I second the motion to Clarence. He's a good speaker and presenter. Too bad about his hair! I heard that baldness is a sign of too much testosterone...

I spoke with Rob yesterday and he informed me that the meeting will go on as planned at his shop. I doubt it will be the kind of meeting that will drag on until late, in fact Rob said when he's feeling tired he'll pull the plug.

haha. Okay, what the heck. If you all think my ugly mug is the one you want to represent Coastal Cruisers, that's your problem. I can always wear a wig.

Do I get a speach writer? George Bush has got one. We're both bufoons, and his speach writer still makes him looks smart...ish, kinda.

I have a great opening joke about a high-school mechanics teacher... =: )

We can chat on the 11th.

BTW - just kidding Bill

(I love how Wayne gets his two-bits in on this one. Wayne, I'll get you for this)

BTW2 - If Rob M changes his mind, he's still our first choice and I'll be the first to welcome him back to the MC roll.

Meeting as usual at LCI, 7:30 Thursday. Meet for dinner at the Pantry 6:00.
~Bill

If I can make it off the Island, this'll be my first meeting since joining the Club so I don't know the "usual" stuff yet. ;)

What is the street address for LCI?

Which Pantry do you meet for dinner? (intersection or street address would be helpful)

-Steve Looking forward to meeting more of you in person.

Unit D - 8940 River Rd, Richmond

It's about 500m ESE of the River Rock Casino, just about under the Oak Street Bridge (Hwy 99)

I think we were at the Pantry last time. That's the problem with following/getting a ride to the eating establishment, you can't remember the name.
GG

Or was it the beer... hmmm
