📆 The Cruiserhead's Annual Churn Creek trip is coming up soon, time to start planning! Three weeks out and on sunny days it's already up to 26 C on the sandy beaches of our campsite! We'll be going up Friday and departing Tuesday, there will likely be others heading up Saturday and returning Monday.

🚙 There is usually a Friday departure group and a Saturday departure group. Post below which group you are planning to join. For newbies: this is a stock-friendly run, with some incredible views, and an amazing experience, you will not regret it! Bring your own TP/portable potty. There is a nearby (5 min away) free campsite with an outhouse if you prefer. You can either stay at camp, or if you are more adventurous, we do day trips that are a bit more exciting. Please note that if wet, the roads can be VERY slick. Drive with caution.

🌞 The long range forecast this year shows no snow, but a chance of rain with above average temperatures for May. I'll be bringing my chainsaw, there's plenty of firewood in the area.

🗺 DIRECTIONS

🗺️ Google Maps: clicky

Take the Fraser Canyon Highway 1 up to Cache Creek.
From Cache Creek take Highway 97 north to Clinton.
Fuel up in Clinton and head north on 97 toward Chasm.
Just past the turnoff for Chasm, turn left at Meadow Lake Road.
Follow Meadow Lake Road in the direction of Gang Ranch.
Eventually Meadow Lake Road changes its name to Canoe Creek Rd.
When you go through the Canoe Creek village, keep right and end up
heading north on the High road with the view of the Fraser River on left below.
Do not go to Dog Creek. You may see our campsite across the river down below.
Cross the big suspension bridge and snake up the hill.
Do not go to Gang Ranch; instead go left into Churn Creek protected areas.
There is a sign board on the left, follow that road carefully down to the campsite area at the river.

Ya'll have fun.

I haven't seen much movement on this one, is it still a go? Looks like my long weekend might be free. Quite a treck from the coast, what are we thinking for day trips?

Do we have a list of who is going?

Unfortunately we can't make it. Plans for the long weekend were already in place. Hope you have a great time.

Definitely a go. Myself, Garry B, Mike M confirmed, Drew's a maybe. Haven't planned specific day trips just yet, depends on weather, it's been changing daily so we'll see conditions when we get there.

I'll have my chainsaw with me and we'll do a firewood run Saturday

How’d it go guys? We tried to push our trip up one week to meet up with you but couldn’t make it work. We’re hoping to go north from mud Lakes and up, but not sure we can get through there? How’s the snow level? Heading up in two well-equipped vehicles.

Another trip to Churn under the belt... Left town around 9pm and stopped on the way for a 2 hour nap and pulled into camp around 6am Saturday morning. The weather mostly cooperated, had some snowfall on the way to camp followed by some heavy fog, just got a torrential rain fall Saturday night until about 6am. It was a pretty low key weekend just what I needed after some very long hours at work for the last few weeks. Travel was a breeze both directions with very little traffic, big surprise being a long weekend.

Crappy weather makes for nice quiet back country. Wish I’d been there.

We had one serious night of rain. Patti and I stayed until Tuesday and the weather stayed nice and dry the rest of the time, and we only hit some rain after we left.

Thanks for posting up the photos. Sounds like a relaxing weekend at camp.

@NorthWA best intel for Mud Lakes will be on the 4WABC forums or on the 4WDABC FB page if you're on FB. Enjoy the trip.
