With an FJ60 outfitted as yours is you will run the risk of some body damage. Rockers, quarters are the most vulnerable. There is a lot of sheet metal there - I know, that's what I wheel.

That said you largely have control over what happens at any given moment. As long as you make your group AWARE of your fears and get in a group with similar concerns you will be fine. Go slow and ask for spotting/help when you feel uneasy.

Is your truck showroom perfect or daily driver? Will you freak if a branch leaves some light scratches in the paint or are you more concerned about real DENTS?

Just like you CAN ski without falling down and getting snow in your face you CAN wheel without the truck showing evidence of the activity...

I think you'll be fine and wonder what you had been worried about. Come on out!

I had a blast my first time to Rausch in my 62 with sagging, stock springs and 32" tires.

So far I was planning on camping at Rausch Creek...
Will I have to travel back and forth to TwinGrove if I want to participate in the events, missing out on???

The breakfasts, dinner, raffle, seminars, product demos, etc will all be at Twin Grove. You can stay where you wish, but it's all happening at Twin Grove. The campground is fantastic with really great facilities.
I don't understand the desire to camp in the RC dustbowl, but that's me.

Dam it all to hell....another family catastrophe this past week.
been in NJ since Sunday stayin till next Friday. Not planned.
Doubt I will be back in July again as I was just here last weekend for 38 Hours.
Pretty much had enough til planned trip in September

I think I'm gonna just give up until we move to RI in a few years.
Was really looking forward to it, again.

You are, of course, welcome anytime Jeff.
If there is anything we can help with in the NJ area let us know.

Thank you Mark, Rich.
My father passed unexpectedly last Saturday. Turns out my 38 hour trip here the week before was a good idea. I wanted to try the new Jetblue direct flight just for the hell of it..cant tell you how glad I am that I did.

One upside is, a very good friend and member let me borrow his LX450 instead of wasting money on a rental car. Im super stoked about that. My sister always told me my 80 series was her favorite truck.
I wasnt in it more than 5 minutes and started thinking I'm gonna be buying 80 series #3 real soon. love this model.

Well then, I'd better get right on that, thanks for the reply Jon.

Sorry for your troubles Jeff, I too have been down this road and wheeling certainly takes a back seat to family, time to step up. Best to ya.

See the rest of y'all up there.

Hey boys and girls, registration for the 2013 Coal Mine Cruiser Classic closes in 2 weeks. What are you waiting for? An engraved invitation?
Fine. Consider yourself personally invited to the largest Toyota 4x4 event on the east coast. Those of you who know will be there and have already registered.
Those of you who don’t know, please take the time and check out the event details here:
http://gclcny.com/events/CMCC/info.html

... This is our 14th year and we’re getting pretty damn good at it.
It’s a GCLC event so you know the food will be great.
The event HQ is Twin Grove Campground so you know the facilities will be great.
The wheeling is at Rausch Creek Off Road Park, so you know that will be great too.

So really now…what are you waiting for??

WARNING: Missing this event will cause you to experience a slight fever and dryness of the throat, followed by dizzy spells. An itchy rash develops with severe muscle spasms followed by the inevitable drooling. Your entire digestive system will collapse accompanied by uncontrollable flatulence, until finally, you are reduced to a quivering wasted piece of jelly.

You want I should bring some fire wood?
