Took your carb out of the box yesterday. SURPRISE!!

As you might have figured [but I wouldn't have known until I took it out] that ONE shiny part on the carb is NOT STOCK!

Not only that, but whoever had the bright idea to install it messed up the air horn in the process to the point that I don't think the original part would work any more.

Getting fuel thru the carb would have been next to impossible:

I will bag up the debris and return it to you.

If you will note, the brass idle jet on the right hand side no longer has a slotted head to remove it. I do not know if it will be possible to remove it, but I will try.

The good news is that if I cannot get it out [ which I am doubtful of], I can provide another fuel bowl for this particular carb for free. It was given to me last year by another MUDder who goes by the name of pighead, who gave it to me to pass along as cruiser karma when the need arose. Please take a minute to PM him and let him know where his donation ended up.

Next time I am at the shop, I will also look thru the cores that were donated by wayneraintree to see if I can find an airhorn assembly. More cruiser karma there.

Hmm I wonder if I know anyone that has a 2F Mark-rebuilt carb... hmmmm

my first rebuild was by Mark, second one I did myself

Randy said the carb was fine trick for me in finally passing emissions was the valve adjustment Randy did

I was too chicken to rebuild this one. Maybe next time I'm having the fuel tank boiled and sealed up, lot's of rust and really old nasty smelling gas. Should I plan on replacing the fuel lines too? Fuel Pump? The fuel pump looks like it's brand new but after running the way it was I'm afraid it's going to be full of crap.
