Gotta get a new one, so is a T100 truck or early 80 series a compatible bolt in match for my 75 w/sbc 40 series?

If you gotta buy one, why not buy the correct one?

Is there that much diff in $$?

8/74-7/80 $65 new Toy, $23 aftermarket http://coolfj40.stores.yahoo.net/clutslavcylf.html

If you have someone that is going to give you a new one for a T100 or anything else for that matter, hold them side-by-side and compair.

What are you really trying to do here? Looking for something with longer stroke?

Dave I'm really embarrassed to say I only remembered I needed one, b/c the little holes were there in the cowl of the tub I just mounted.......I'm so focused on a new shiny 80 series master cylinder and how neat they lok, that the poor clutch slave was forgotten. I will admit, I hope there's a cool looking replacement. I always hated the way the old ones look like a model train set locomotive smoke stack.

Also, I am on cold medicine. Confusion reigns.

So you are really talking about the master cylinder and whether or not you can find a cool looking replacement one????? Sorry, but that is a sorry reason for trying to put a part on that may, or may not work, cause it looks cooler. The original is what came on the truck, despite better performance from an 80 series cylinder, I think they look funny on a 40 myself.

The clutch master on my T-100, is not all that different from the master on my 1984 60 series, but much smaller than the master on my 73 40. I don't have a clue if the pressure is the same, the stroke or anything else. Bolt pattern differs as I recall though, and the little plastic cup still looks like a loco smoke stack, not much different than any other Toyota Clutch master.

If it helps, my 73 cup is more cylindric, like the brake master cups, you could even use an old brake master cup, if you want to get rid of the funnel shape. Use a front reservoir, you'll have more fluid that way. I think they will interchange, maybe.

If you want to know what one looks like, check used car ads, or craigslist, should be able to find a pic of the engine bay of a T100, or similar vintage Tacoma for that matter, same engine and tranny.

no workie.......punt.......
