So anyone have a recommendation of their favorite flavor of clutch kit (or does it matter)?

Did some search and it seems that the basics needed are pressure plate and clutch disk, throwout bearing and pilot bearing.

I have already replaced the rear engine seal with the engine rebuild I did.

I was told the flywheel looked good by a mechanic friend so I will re-use that.

Anything else I am forgetting that one should replace at the same time so as to not have to go back and work on it anytime soon?

I like the heavy duty clutch kits from Marlin Crawler Marlin Crawler, Inc.
They don't show a LC kit on the website, but they generally have them in stock. Give them a call and if the sales guy they don't carry LC stuff, ask for Dave.

I think it is hard to beat OEM---Cruiserdans the man if you want to go that route

some pics and p/ns here, I replaced pretty much everything but the bell housing and flywheel:

You will need a clutch alignment tool either a plastic one with the kit or an old shaft cut off a tranny (keep that as a literal translation please):ban:

Poser has a good write up on his tranny install and the best piece of advice was to prefit the pilot bearing---I had to take some emery cloth to the shaft to allow the bearing to slide on easily---would of been a bear trying to push the trans in like that

Flywheel might look good but I would have it turned---wouldnt change brakes without turning and it's kinda the same thing--could maybe wind up with a jittery grabby clutch and you dont want to have to go back in or live with it---I think it cost me like 30 bucks at the local engine builders

might consider an extra clip or too just in case they go "Ping" across the floor on ya

Thanks for the info guys. Diggity, that looks like a good price for parts. I'll check that site out.
