OK, all this resurrection of official club talk has me itching to meet some of you that i have never met. There's alot of eager beavers up north AL so let's do ride/camping trip soon... like before Christmas... nothing fancy, just bring your own crap to eat, sit on, pet, spoon, etc.
How's the new park in Cullman? can we reserve camping spots there big enough for a dozen folks?
We can even name the ride... call it Dixie Wrecked Ride or something witty like that.

One of the things I'll preach until I'm blue in the face is that a good time trumps formality... i want to meet and spend time wheeling and making hysterical memories around the camp fire a whole lot more than spending countless nights and days trying to figure out how to be official. if it gets formal along the way then so be it. but we gotta start by knowing each other first and building an unbreakable brotherhood bond first...

The only thing that could keep me from missing CottonLand's event this weekend just happens to be my best friend on this earth, my brother. He accidentally booked his trip down here this weekend and i almost blew him off, but I didn't. The CottonLand crew are just as important to me , not because i know them through this forum and not because I pay dues to the same official club as they do, but because i've spent countless hours around a fire or on a trail with them... They are officially my family. it just so happens that my brother needs me more this week, and you know it has to big if I'm willing to miss the Crawl which I've never missed one...

if DixieLand ever gets off the ground as an official club, it will not be because we submitted paper work in on time or to the correct people, it will be because a group of friends are so damn tight that TLCA will want to recognize us.

So who wants to wheel? Suggestions on a place and date to do so? If you can't make the ride.. then so what, catch the next one. ... we all can't make them all... And it should be cool if you have a friend with a non-yota that wants to come... every club has a token heep guy.

Well Said Eric!
The only thing I would add is that althought I would push for a wheeling event it doesn't have to be. We could meet, camp, cook, drink or what ever it takes, we just need to get together.

I don't think they have a campground set up out there yet. I would be game to try out some of the other parks in the area.

I don't cook, but I'll eat your food!
I tease... I'll bring something for you to cook me...

Then let's try a new park... maybe even Choccolocco again? We really liked the owner Trey during the 4Runner Jamboree... and there's enough bunny trails and some hardcore sections for everyone... We can camp or those that want to hotel it can be 2 minutes away... I particularly like the hardees that was 2 minutes from camp... fried bologna biscuit!
I'm just stirring the hornets nest here. there's enough new parks that there's no reason to get together for some larger rides...
Trust me when i say that the more of these rides we have, the more this board and our club will JUMP!

Auburn folk could possibly go on Oct 23-25, Nov 6-8 or Nov 13-15... Some of those weekends we would definitely need a TV around though.
it appears Bama vs Miss State is away Nov 14 and Auburn plays GA away... is Nov 20-22 too close to Thanksgiving?

^^^

I can cook it as long as it doesn't take all day cause that would suck I wouldn't get to ride.

I cook whilst i ride... a can of chefboy artie on the manifold for a while and then it's lunch time!

I'm in for dates below...

Not so sure we'll ever get dragr1 back to chocco...it's not been nice to him.

Also got Morris Mtn(camp avail-Oxford is the nearest Hardees) Mountain side(not sure about camp, but Nocalulla Falls has a campground - Jacks near by).

Oct 23-25 wifey want let it happen, something about the weekend we got married or something.

Nov 6-8 - Doable
Nov 13-15 - Doable

Nov 20-22 Opening weekend Gun Deer Season - hey! This was my orig need for a 4wd....

:steer:

I'll go... not into serious rocks though. Sleep Apnea puts a damper on camping.

I'm probably be in for Nov 6-8, maybe Nov 13-15.

I'm good with both Nov. dates

Ride Yellow Mamma... have the electric chair on very large Krawlers...

Let's nail a date down. We can chat about the name at camp.

my vote for now is 6-8

I'm leaning toward the 6-8 as well...
I could show up late on the 7th and hotel it if enough people from Auburn show interest, or early on that Saturday with camping gear...

Why don't you north-folk chat at the b'ham meating as to where may be a good palce to wheel that weekend and hopefully camp...

WEC obviously meats every other thrusday and this thursday is no exception. We gonna talk about how much Conecuh Sausage will be necessary to feed all attendees...

Okay so are we settled on the 6-8? Which park do we want to attack?

no clue... I really want to see one of the new parks up in N. AL... anyone got any suggestions?

We have been to Stoney. Matt and Elbert have been at least twice so that is a definite plus for that park having some people familiar with the area. I think the level 4 and 5 guys might be a little bored there but the 2 and 3 guys should have a lot of fun. I want to see how much tougher the trails have gotten with all this rain I would imagine some of the hill climbs have gotten pretty fun.
