With CMP south sales (Anniston and Talladega) being in your home court, it is likely that a few on this chapter page might be interested in what they have in inventory for sale.
In that light, I was there last Thursday. This was my first visit since 2023 when I purchased my 3rd Garand. This trip was to follow up on a comment that indicated that they had match (competition) grade 22LR rifles in stock. The comment was very true.
When I arrived, it was clear that there was the usual ~12 rakes full of Garands and 1903s. But past the official store area in the community seating for the air rifle competition center, there was two rakes of match 22s. What they had out at that time in the Anniston store was
I left after purchasing three M12s and two 52Ds. Unlike Garands, there was no daily or annual limit on how many 22s can be purchased by each customer. {Also FYI I still use my membership in the Garand Collectors Association to enable me to make firearm purchases at the CMP, so I definitely got use out of my ~$40 membership fee for 2024. The CMP allows joining the GCA as part of a firearm purchase so it is easy}
The following are a couple pictures that I snapped of the 22 rakes.

- Remington 40Xs $800/each (all heavy barrel but several were non-tapered barrel examples)
- Winchester 52Ds $900/each
- H&R M12s $600/each [FYI The M12 was produced in the 1980s as a near clone of the 52D when Winchester would no longer manufacture to fill government orders (H&R = Harrington & Richardson)]
- Mossbergs $tbd (I do not recall the model because the Mossbergs might better described as target trainers rather than competition rifles, so did not review them as carefully as I possibly should have)
