back when me a Hunter A. started this chapter we had a (now a good friend) guy & his girlfriend (now wife) that would drive from Bryan College Station every meeting. so i think he has every one beat and to top it off he never asked to move the meetings.
i'm just saying if ya;ll want to move it move it. if ya'll don't lets drop it cause this is old talk. i will drive N,S,E or W it don't matter to me cause i like hanging out ya'll & also as long as folks show.

Sorry to miss out on this one....dog(Uno) was getting out of surgery last night and I didn't think bringing the pooch (aka Conehead 2.0)with his circa 1986 satellite dish cone on his head would be appropriate.

The location is fine for me, just always seem to have something pop up the day of meet.

For the record, I don't mind the short drive to Rudy's, and I like their BBQ too. I've driven to San Antonio and to Dallas for their Cruiser meetings and I'd do it again, so distance isn't a big deal. I am guilty of suggesting Bone Daddy's because it gets Dave all worked up.

If I was lobbying for a change, it would probably be to move the meeting from a week night to a weekend afternoon, and make it a family friendly event. You can even bring your dogs to Rudy's on 360, and there's outdoor seating.

Others have mentioned that a more central location would increase attendance. I think that's the reason the subject of moving the meetings won't go away.

That's my .02,
Lee

Here's a map with some of the member's locations that I had. Looks like Rudy's is pretty central if you take into account Jason Darling living in Leander and Jeff in Kyle.

Agreed. It is more of a time issue for me-the getting out of work, home to meeting. Weekends would also be easier- but whatever is easiest for everyone. I'd like to go again and meet more of you guys, everyone I met so are good guys.

I hear they have valet service at the Yellow Rose.

now changing it to a weekend would be nice. thats some thing we might need to talk about. i don't really recall much talk about that.
maybe next time we can talk about that or take a vote here on that.
i don't want to start any problems for the guy in charge but maybe that would help get more folk out.

I'd be down for making it on Friday night or Saturday night.

Dave, have you been smokin' the loco weed again? We already have WALCS meetings every Friday afternoon ---> night.

Thanks for checking my schedule. I retract my recommendation for Friday meetings. How about Saturday or Sunday evening?

For some reason, you've been increasingly senile since last December 7th. I can't believe you forgot the Friday WALCS meetings, since you're usually there. Must be the (512) IPA interfering with short term memory. That and old age.

I swung by; place was packed had a look around inside wasn't about to ask each group if they LSLC, no one was outside.

Don't really understand meeting at a packed restaurant/parking lot at night; wouldn't meeting during daylight hours on the weekend make sense somewhere everyone could park together and see all the rides/mods (no traffic)??

Liked the blue 40 ('cept the chevy badge :flipoff2: ) was a lot of discos there

These guys seem to have it sorted Cars and Coffee™ Austin i'll be there next meet :grinpimp:

Thanks! There is a SBC under that hood, hence the bowtie. The group is easy to find, once you know where we sit, (duh!). Park, then walk in the back door to the screened in section. As soon as you walk in, that's it!

I'm cool with it being on a weeknight. It's not dark all year, and I have other things I like/have to do on the weekends.

Sorted? Leander? Really? I'll throw in my vote for a Saturday morning, sip some coffee and kick some tires type event. You might be surprised who all would show up ;)

Tucker

Good idea. I would show up.

Not pushing any particular location, but the Central Market Cafe has better than average fresh ground coffee, monster breakfast tacos, and a big parking lot that's usually empty on Saturday morning. They open at 0700.

Weekend is good. Whole Foods downtown?

Good Suggestion!
Central, good food, big empty parking lot across street, daylight hours :grinpimp: ; just need to dodge the busy times.

My suggestion would be Nutty Brown Cafe
Little out of the way but worth it; terrific food, massive parking in back, could take the dog?

A weekend meeting wouldn't bother me much, at least I'd get to stay longer as my day usually starts around 4:30 a.m. during the work week.
