January is upon us and as you all know so are Club dues. Unfortunately, this year the Club will not be able to provide STL Permits as we've done in the past. In the past when you paid for a yearlong membership you would receive a T-shirt, a sticker and a copy of the club permit. As of this year we will not be issued a club permit by the STL department. In order to apply for a club Permit we would need to become an NFP and carry a $1M liability policy to cover all club activities. It's both a blessing and a hinderence some times to not be an NFP and this time it's a hinderence.

That said, Kevin, Phil and I have decided that the club is currently well funded and asking for dues from existing members will reap no benefit for the club at this point. All new memberships will receive a shirt and sticker with their sign-ups. Anyone who is a paid member for 2007 will have no new dues for 2008 and will remain an "official" member through 12-08. These members will not receive a new shirt and sticker but they will still be available for purchase from Phil.

Also, because the club is not a Not For Profit organization we do not have a "Club" bank account and can no longer accept checks that are addressed to the club. Any checks Addressed as such will be returned with a request for either cash funds or a new check addressed to Phil. Our club funds are in a seperate account under his name at his bank.

We are hoping to organize a nice sized club family run and cookout similar to what we did a couple of years ago with food being provided by the club. Being that we don't have "expenses" as a club very often we would like to put some of those funds back into the bellies of those who have given them.

We want to thank everyone for your participation in the club. In the three years that we've been around I have met A LOT of great people and have seen a lot of great places. None of it would have been the same without you.

Thanks again. And heres to a great 08!

Thanks for the ingo

I'll make sure to bring some cash to the meeting this month.

Rather thanks for the INFO. Man I can't even spell on a Monday.

I remember a year or so us discussing directions for the club...did that conversation ever have an end?

Alvin,
You're right, I got ya covered brother.

Splitshot,
Your hunting license only covers you during hunting season. Ways around this include cat and varmint. You must however be carrying your hunting equipment in your rig if you are stopped.

Rob,
It was probably closer to 2 years ago when the major discussions about future club directions were discussed in any formal manner. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your stance, this group has leaned way more toward the side of informal and unorganized. I mostly like it that way but have also found myself wondering about what things would be like for us if we were a more formal club.
At this point there is no current discussion of the club stepping up to any more formal and/or more organized level.

Hello, I'd like to know where and when the next club meeting will be. I'm in for a membership, gotta keep Copper State on the board. It would be kool to have a group outing. Don't know if the group has a running FJ25, but I might be able to bring another one/one to the group within the next few months. My '67 is just waiting for some cooperating weather for paint. It'll be one down, three to go;).

Sean, meets take place in PHX (see thread up at the top). Keep an eye on the board and there is always runs getting posted up. I'd like to check out that 25 some time.

BMAN - Really cool... so then I'll just make mine a $20 "donation"... no t-shirt needed (though I might buy one to replace the one I messed up at the Fossil Creek cleanup...)

A great thanks to all the CSC "administration" (dare we call it that? :D) for all your efforts in managing the club!

Best to all for the New Year!
:bounce2:

Hi gents. I would like to jon your club. I bought a 92 last year and have been working out some kinks. I'd like to come and beging to learn. Can I just show up? And what are yearly dues for a new guy. PS My rig is kinda all show no go. The PO added 33" and a rear tire carrier but no lift. Can I still come play?

C'mon down! 3rd Friday of each month at the Sonic just East of Rural Rd on Broadway. Details above in Official Phoenix Monthly Cruiser thread. Meeting time is sometime after sundown.

Carl

Howdy! I think the suggestion to catch the meeting in Tuscon was just to make it easy on you. Unfortunately, those meetings have been somewhat spotty on scheduling. The Phoenix meetings have been very consistent, every 3rd Friday since the beginning. Attendance runs from 1 - 3 dozen rigs, just depends. We did have a pretty good turnout on Dec 21, considering we could have been shopping in the nice warm mall. Your more than welcome to come on up on the 18th. John

It's all good. Sounded like there was a little Tucson--Phoenix rivalry going there for a second.;) I appreciate your responses, and am looking forward to meeting everyone in person sometime soon.

thanks, Sean
